대전시교육청은 12월 9일 대전천동초등학교 다목적강당에서 지역주민을 대상으로 (가칭)천동중학교 신축공사 설계설명회를 실시했다고 밝혔다.
(가칭)천동중학교는 천동3구역 주거환경개선사업에 따른 학생 수 증가에 대응하기 위해 총 247억원을 투자하여 동구 천동 92-1일원 부지에 설립될 예정이다.
이 학교는 2025년 4월까지 설계용역을 마친 후, 2025년 8월부터 2027년 1월까지 약 18개월간 공사가 진행되어 2027년에 개교할 계획이다.
