그린바이오 벤처캠퍼스는 그린바이오에 특화된 연구·장비·공간과 창업보육 프로그램 등을 제공하는 그린바이오 벤처 육성 전문시설로 2022년 농식품부 공모사업에 선정됐다.
이 사업은 2022년부터 2029년까지 총 350억 원의 사업비가 투입되며,벤처 지원시설, 연구·실험시설, 운영지원시설이 설치된 건물 1동을 포함해 약 1만 3천㎡ 규모로 포항융합기술산업지구에 조성될 계획이다.
그린바이오 벤처캠퍼스가 조성되는 포항융합기술산업지구는 강소연구개발특구로 지정된 곳으로 그린백신 실증지원센터, 세포막단백질 연구소, 포항지식산업센터 등이 운영 중이며 그린바이오 핵심기술 지원이 가능해 그린바이오 창업생태계 조성의 최적지로 주목받았다. 또한 지난 6월 ‘바이오분야 국가첨단전략산업 특화단지‘로 지정되며 그 중요성이 더욱 부각됐다.
김병삼 청장은 “그린바이오 벤처캠퍼스의 성공적인 조성을 통해 그린바이오 신산업 분야의 벤처 창업 거점시설로 자리매김하도록 지원하며 포항융합기술산업지구가 바이오산업의 중심지구로 발전시키는 데 최선을 다하겠다.” 라고 말했다.

The Green Bio Venture Campus is a specialized green bio venture incubation facility that provides research, equipment, space, and startup incubation programs specialized in green bio, and was selected for the 2022 Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs public offering project.

The Green Vaccine Demonstration Support Center, Cell Membrane Protein Research Institute, and Pohang Knowledge Industry Center are operating there, and since support for key green bio technologies is possible, it has been recognized as the optimal location for creating a green bio startup ecosystem. In addition, its importance was further highlighted when it was designated as a ‘National Advanced Strategic Industry Specialized Complex in the Bio Field’ in June.
Commissioner Kim Byeong-sam said, “Through the successful creation of the Green Bio Venture Campus, we will support its establishment as a venture startup base facility in the green bio new industry field and do our best to develop the Pohang Convergence Technology Industrial Complex into a central district of the bio industry.”
