시에 따르면 이번 성과는 올해 총 68건의 범죄 피의자 실시간 검거(절도 및 절도미수 14건, 폭력 3건, 음주운전 40건, 기타형사범 11건)와 533회의 범죄 예방 신고 실적을 기록했다. 이러한 공로를 인정받아 시는 경북지방경찰청장으로부터 인증패와 감사장을 수여받았다.
평가는 경북도 내 22개 시·군 통합관제센터를 대상으로 2023년 10월까지의 운영 실적을 기준으로 실시됐다. 평가 항목은 ▲ 형사범 검거 및 검거 조력 등 실시간 검거 실적(50%) ▲청소년 탈선현장 신고, 거동 수상자·주취자 통보 등 사전 범죄예방신고 실적(30%) ▲자체 특수시책 등 정성평가(20%)를 종합해 선정됐다.
김장호 구미시장은 “이번 성과는 통합관제센터 직원들의 헌신과 신속한 대응 덕분”이라며, “앞으로도 시민의 안전을 최우선으로 삼아 범죄 예방과 대응 체계를 더욱 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 2010년에 개소한 구미시 통합관제센터는 현재 4,732대의 CCTV를 운용 중이다. 구미시는 지속적인 CCTV 설치 확대와 지능형 선별관제시스템 도입을 통해 범죄는 물론 재난·재해에도 신속히 대응하며 안전한 도시 조성을 위해 노력하고 있다.
