부평구에 따르면 지난 11월 26~29일 인천시와 인천환경운동연합·인천녹색연합 등 환경단체는 합동으로 ‘공공청사 1회용컵 반입 모니터링’을 실시했다.
그 결과 부평구의 1회용컵 반입률은 4.71%로 집계됐으며, 이는 인천시를 제외한 10개 군·구 가운데 가장 낮은 반입량으로 분석됐다.
앞서 부평구는 지난 7월 전국 21개 환경운동연합이 실시한 1회용컵 사용실태 점검 결과에서도 전국에서 세 번째로 낮은 1회용컵 사용률을 나타내, 1회용품 없는 모범청사로 인정받은 바 있다.
이와 관련, 부평구는 지난 2021년 4월 친환경 자원순환 청사 만들기 선포 이후 친환경 기반을 구축하고 소속 직원들의 높은 자원순환 의식을 강조해 왔다.
이를 위해 텀블러 살균·세척기 운영, 축제·행사 시 다회용기(컵) 사용 지원, 친환경 자원순환 청사 운영 캠페인, 1회용품 사용 줄이기 다짐 캠페인 등을 추진하고 있다.
