이에 포항시는 9일부터 부시장을 총괄로 지역안정, 민생경제, 취약계층, 경기활성 대책을 위한 ‘지역 안정 대책반’을 구성해 즉시 운영에 들어간다.
이날 이 시장은 특히 철강·이차전지 등 주력산업의 위기를 극복하고, 지역 경제와 민생 지키기에 총력을 다하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.
철강과 이차전지 산업의 회복을 위해 중앙정부와 긴밀히 협력해 중소기업 정부지원금, 국내 기업 의무할당제, 전기료 인하 등 위기 극복 긴급대책 마련과 함께 ‘산업위기대응특별지역’ 지정 등에 행정력을 집중한다.
또한 지역경제를 지탱하는 중소기업과 소상공인을 위해 내년에는 소상공인 특례보증재원 2,000억 원 조성, 포항사랑상품권 2,000억 원 규모 발행을 비롯해 필요한 모든 행정적·재정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다고 강조했다.
이와 함께 공공재정의 선제적·공격적 투입으로 경제 마중물 효과를 극대화하기 위해 총력을 다하겠다고 밝혔다.
내년도 대형 공사 신속 집행, 관급공사 지역업체 수주 확대, 특급호텔 유치 등 지역 민간투자도 적극 추진하는 한편 겨울철 취약계층 관리 및 보호를 더욱 강화하는 등 민생을 최우선으로 하는 정책을 지속적으로 추진해 나간다.
아울러 공직자들은 비상근무 태세를 유지하고 ▲지역사회 안정 ▲민생경제·소외계층 지원 ▲재난 대비에 철저를 기하며 현안 추진과 공직기강 확립에 총력을 다한다는 방침이다.
이강덕 시장은 “대내외적으로 혼란스러운 상황에서 시민들이 불편함을 겪지않도록 경제와 민생 안정을 위해 시정 역량을 집중해 나가겠다”며 “시민들도 연말연시를 맞이해 건전한 소비로 지역경제가 위축되지 않도록 힘을 모아주길 바란다”고 말했다
또한 “내년도 예산은 어느 때보다 중요한 만큼 중소기업·소상공인 지원, 미래산업 등 현안 사업들이 순조롭게 진행될 수 있도록 의회의 적극적인 지원과 협조를 당부한다”고 덧붙였다.
