[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 오경희기자] 경기도가 ‘제15회 전국 지자체 남북교류협력 워크숍’을 공동 개최했다고 9일 밝혔다.
제주도와 지난 12월 6일과 7일 양일간 고양 소노캄과 김포 애기봉 생태평화공원에서 열린 이번 워크숍은 전국 광역·기초 자치단체 남북교류협력 업무 담당자와 남북교류 관련 전문가 60여명이 참석했으며, 한반도 대내외 정세 변화에 따른 남북관계 전망 및 통일 미래세대의 통일 인식 개선을 주제로 다양한 의견을 나눴다.
경기도는 경기연구원과 사단법인 남북협력제주도민운동본부는 2009년 3월 남북교류협력 등에 관한 학술 및 연구교류 협약을 맺은 이래 제주도와 매년 번갈아가며 워크숍을 열고 있다.
첫 날에는 개회식에 이어 이종석 전 통일부 장관의 ‘미국 새 행정부의 한반도 정책 전망과 대응 방향’을 주제로 기조강연이 진행됐다.
이종석 전 장관은 “트럼프 2기 행정부의 북미대화 추진 가능성이 높은 상황으로 이는 곧 한반도 정세의 새로운 전환점으로 작용할 전망”이라며 “현 남북관계의 위기 고조에 대한 우려가 매우 큰 상황으로 이념에서 탈피한 실리적 외교를 추진해, 국민의 안전을 지키고 안보 리스크를 줄여야 한다”고 밝혔다.
제1세션에서는 ‘남북경색 상황 속에서 지방정부의 역할 모색’을 주제로 북한의 인도적 상황을 짚어보고 지속가능한 남북교류협력 방안과 평화경제특구를 기반으로 하는 접경지역 협력 가능성에 대해 모색했다.
제2세션에서는 ‘한반도 주변 국제정세 변화에 따른 미래세대의 통일 인식 개선’을 주제로 한반도 평화 프로세스부터 지정학적 긴장이 고조된 현재 한반도 정세 분석을 통해 앞으로의 남북관계를 전망하며, 2030세대의 통일 필요성에 대한 인식 조사 분석을 통해 앞으로의 미래통일 교육을 위한 접근방법에 대해 논의했다.
이어진 둘째 날에는 김포 애기봉 생태평화공원을 방문해 디엠지(DMZ) 현장에서 한반도 평화의 중요성을 직접 체감하는 시간을 가졌다.

In the second session, under the theme of “Improving Future Generations’ Awareness of Unification According to Changes in the International Situation Around the Korean Peninsula,” we looked into the future of inter-Korean relations through an analysis of the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, where geopolitical tensions are heightened, starting with the Korean Peninsula peace process, and discussed approaches to future unification education based on a survey analysis of the 2030 generation’s awareness of the need for unification.
On the second day, we visited Gimpo Aegibong Ecological Peace Park and had a chance to experience first-hand the importance of peace on the Korean Peninsula at the DMZ site.
