브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 한덕수 국무총리가 8일 "정부는 국민의 뜻에 따라 오로지 국민을 바라보며 현 상황이 조속히 수습될 수 있도록 전력을 다하겠다"라고 밝혔다.
한 총리는 이날 서울 여의도 국민의힘 중앙당사에서 열린 한동훈 국민의힘 대표와의 대국민 공동 담화를 통해 "현 상황이 초래된 데 대해 총리로서 무거운 책임감을 느끼고 있다. 국민 여러분께 진심으로 송구스럽다는 말씀을 드린다"라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "한미 동맹을 굳건하게 유지하면서, 한미일 안보 협력을 강건하게 유지하는 것이 매우 크고 중요한 과제"라며 "한미, 한미일 그리고 우리의 우방과의 신뢰를 유지하는데 외교부 장관을 중심으로 전 내각이 최선을 다하겠다"라고 덧붙였다.
이어 "비상 경제 대응 체계를 강화해 금융 외환시장의 위험 요인을 면밀히 점검하고 신속하게 대응하겠다"라며 "국민이 불안해하시는 일이 없도록 치안 질서를 확립하고 각종 재난에도 철저히 대비하겠다"라고 전했다.
한 총리는 야당에 예산안 통과를 당부하기도 했다.
그는 "비상시에도 국정이 정상적으로 운영되기 위해서는 정부가 제출한 예산안과 그 부수 법안의 통과가 무엇보다 필요하다"라며 "예산이 확정돼 각 부처가 제때 집행을 준비해야만, 어려운 시기 민생 경제를 적기에 회복시킬 수 있다"라고 주장했다.
