지금 현재 좌파를 이끌어 가는 사람은 누구일까? 여러 사람들은 혹시 이재명(더불어 민주당 대표)이 아닌가 하고 생각할지도 모른다. 그러나 이재명은 아니다 .
창작과 비평사를 만들고 문학상을 만들어 작가들에게 경제적인 혜택을 주면서 이끌어오고 좌파의 일부 세력을 양성해 온 백낙청이야 말로 좌파 일부의 중심이다. 그는 이미 문단을 넘어서 학계와 지성계를 지배하려고 하고 있다. 이재명 위에 좌파의 상왕(上王)이 버티고 있는데 이 점이 바로 우리들의 정치를 힘들게 만들고 그 사람이 한 마디 한 마디 그 사람의 생각 하나하나가 우리 사회를 뒤흔들고 있는 것이다. 좌파 가운데 이재명에 저항하는 사람은 있다. 그러나 백낙청에 저항하는 사람은 없다. 그 즉시 매장되기 때문이다.
2년 반 전 대통령 선거 바로 다음 날 백낙청은 뭐라고 이야기했는가? 그는 오마이뉴스 tv에 나와서 지성인을 넘어서 사악한 정치인으로 이야기한 바 있다. 그는 “우리들이 대통령 선거에는 졌지만 야당의 위대한 지도자를 얻었다” 하면서 이재명을 칭찬하고 추앙한 바가 있다. 아마도 그는 이재명을 부려서 좌파정권을 잡고 나라를 온통 적화하겠다는 흉악한 생각을 가지고 좌파 전원에 대하여 이재명을 다음 정권의 지도자로 하라는 밀지를 내린 것이다.
그런 그가 이번 겨울을 어떻게 구상하고 있는가? 그는 이번 겨울을 윤석열 대통령의 정권을 끝장을 내는 시기로 정하였다는 것을 우리는 잊어서는 안 된다. 그는 “이제 탄핵은 물 건너갔다 탄핵은 국회의원 숫자로도 아직 그 숫자가 모자랄 뿐만이 아니라 만약에 그 탄핵 의결이 되어서 어렵게 헌법재판소에 간다고 하더라도 그 헌법재판소에서 통과될 가능성이 없기 때문에 우리는 탄핵을 해서는 안 된다” 이렇게 주장을 하고 있다.
소위 지성인(知性人)이라는 그는 뭐라고 얘기하는가? 그는 이제 민중의 힘으로 사회를 어지럽히고 엄청난 반대를 통해서, 엄청난 반대 집회와 여러 가지 성명(최근에 대학교수들의 성명이 나오고 있지 않은가?)을 통해서 윤 대통령을 스스로 물러나게 해야 한다고 흉악한 구상을 하고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 이번에 그들이 문제 삼고 있는 김건희 여사 문제도, 계엄과 관련된 문제도 마찬가지인 것이다. 그는 김건희 여사 문제가 범죄가 되지 않는다는 것을 너무도 명백하게 알고 있지만 이러한 감성적인 문제를 이용을 해서 국민을 선동하고 윤석열 대통령이 스스로 퇴진하게 만들려는 음모를 하고 있는 것이다.
이처럼 좌파의 우두머리인 백낙청의 구상을 우리는 직시해야 한다. 그렇기 때문에 지금 윤석열 대통령이 해야 될 일은 단 한 가지이다 꿋꿋하게 자리를 지키고 꿋꿋하게 이제까지 해온 바와 같은 그런 자세를 취하는 것이다. 백낙청이 원하는 대로 윤대통령이 “대통령 도저히 못해먹겠다”고 간단히 생각해서 대통령직을 지키지 못한다면 그것은 우리 민족과 역사에 커다란 죄악을 저지르는 것이 된다.
그렇기 때문에 이제 윤석열 대통령은 좌파가 원하는 바를 파악하고 견디고 또 견뎌야 한다. 윤대통령은 이재명 정권의 탄생을 저지한 것만으로도 역사적인 책임을 다하고 있는 것이다. 여러 가지 어려움 속에서도 할 일은 하고 있다고 많은 국민들이 믿는다. 윤석열 대통령은 꿋꿋해야 한다. 그리고 좌파가 원하는 대로 해서는 안 된다. 어떠한 일이 있더라고 대통령 직을 지켜야 한다. 가볍게 처신하고 가볍게 사과하고 가볍게 물러나가는 것을 경계해야 한다. 윤대통령의 민족과 역사를 생각하는 깊은 뜻이 국민들한테 알려지게 되면 걱정하는 지지도도 올라가게 된다.
박정희 대통령 재임 중에도 교수들과 학생들은 “박정희 하야하라”고 외치고 데모하였다. 그러나 백낙청의 하수인으로 바뀐 일부 교수들의 성명 같은 것들에 신경을 쓰면 안 된다. 그러기에 우리나라의 여러 상황이 너무도 엄중하다. 묵묵히 황소처럼 일하면서 앞으로 가는 것, 그것이 조국과 역사에 대한 윤석열 대통령의 책임이다. inbong1953@hanmail.net
