브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 수개월 전부터 '윤석열 정부가 계엄을 준비하고 있다'고 의혹을 제기해온 더불어민주당 김민석 의원과 추미애 의원이 각계 인사로부터 줄줄이 사과를 받고 있다.
이들 의원은 계엄 의혹을 제기할 때마다 '괴담', '선동' 등의 비판을 받아왔다.
하지만 지난 3일 밤 윤석열 대통령이 비상 계엄을 선포하는 사태가 현실화되자, 이들을 비판했던 각계 인사들은 결국 직간접적으로 사과를 하기 시작했다.
먼저 양상훈 조선일보 주필은 5일 '정말 이 정도까지인 줄은 몰랐다'라는 제목의 칼럼을 통해 "지난 여름 민주당 의원들이 ‘계엄령 선포’를 주장했을 때 ‘괴담’이라고 비판했는데 괴담이 아닌 것으로 됐다"며 "그 의원들에게 사과한다"고 밝혔다.
양상훈 주필은 "윤 대통령이 남의 말을 듣지 않고 자기 마음 내키는 대로 하는 사람이란 얘기는 대통령이 되기 전부터 수없이 들었지만 정말 이 정도로 비정상적일 줄은 몰랐다"면서 "윤 대통령은 결국 계엄 선포를 위한 국무회의에서도 국무위원들의 우려와 반대를 무시하고 정반대 결정을 내렸다. 한국 대통령 역사상 가장 어리석은 자폭 사건이라고 하지 않을 수 없다"고 말했다.
군사전문가인 유용원 국민의힘 의원도 5일 국회 국방위원회 현안질의에서 "여당의원의 한 사람으로서 김민석 의원 등 일부 계엄령을 주장하신 의원들께 사과를 드린다. 제 판단이 틀렸다"고 말했다.
진중권 광운대 특임교수는 지난 4일 유튜브 시사저널TV '시사끝짱'에 출연해 "제가 지금 김민석 의원하고 추미애 의원한테 사과를 해야 된다"며 "괴담 퍼트리지 말라, 선동하지 말라고 얘기를 했다. 너무나 말도 안되는 가능성이었기 때문"이라고 말했다.
진 교수는 이어 "그런데 결과적으로 이 사람들이 제대로 냄새를 맡았던 것"이라며 "이게 괴담이었는데 실화가 돼버려서 내가 사과할 수밖에 없는 상황이 됐다"고 했다.
정치분석가인 박성민 정치컨설팅민 대표도 지난 4일 CBS 라디오 '김현정의 뉴스쇼'와의 인터뷰에서 "SNS 시대에 영상도 다 찍고 있고, 미국에서 동의하겠으며 언론은 또 동의하겠냐고 하면서 계엄은 망상이라고 했다"면서 "어쨌든 제가 야당에 대해서, 김민석 의원에 대해서 비판한 것은 정중하게 사과드려야 되겠다"고 말했다.
한편, 김민석 의원은 지난 8월 국방·안보 라인 인선과 윤석열 대통령의 '반국가 세력' 발언 등을 지목하며 계엄령을 준비하려는 게 아니냐고 주장했다. 김용현 전 경호처장을 국방부 장관에 앉힌 건 '탄핵 정국'이 오면 '계엄'을 대비하기 위해서라고 의혹을 제기했다.
김 의원은 지난 9월엔 윤 대통령이나 대통령실 인사들을 향해 '공개 토론'을 제안하기도 했고, 계엄 선포 이전 국회 동의를 받도록 하는 계엄법 개정안을 발의하기도 했다.
