브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 5일 비상계엄 사태와 관련해 "윤석열 대통령에 대한 탄핵은 반드시 해내야 한다"라고 주장했다.
이 대표는 이날 국회에서 열린 당 비상최고위원회의에 참석해 윤 대통령의 비상계엄 선포를 "실질적인 왕정을 꿈꿨던 친위 쿠데타"로 규정하며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 윤 대통령 탄핵과 관련해 "누군가의 이익을 위해서가 아니라, 누군가의 행위에 대한 합당한 제재를 위해서가 아니라 우리 모두를 위해 반드시 필요한 일"이라며 "비상계엄 친위 쿠데타를 무덤으로 돌려보내고 다시 무덤에서 부활하지 못하도록 완벽하게 봉인 장치를 해야 하는 것이 우리의 책임"이라고 말했다.
이 대표는 여당인 국민의힘에도 대통령 탄핵소추안 통과에 대한 협조를 요청했다. 야6당이 발의한 탄핵안이 국회를 통과하기 위해서는 여당에서 8표 이상의 이탈표가 필요한 상황이다.
이 대표는 "국민의힘은 왕을 꿈꾸는 전제군주가 되고자 하는 윤 대통령의 시도에 저항해야 한다"라며 "민주공화국 대한민국에 중요한 하나의 제도로서 정당으로 존속하기 위해서도, 헌정 질서를 파괴하는 내란 행위에 동조·비호·협력해서는 안 된다"라고 주장했다.
이어 한동훈 국민의힘 대표를 향해 "국민의힘이 내란 범죄 집단에 한편이 되고자 하더라도, 그렇게 되지 않게 만드는 것이 당 대표로서의 책임"이라며 "대다수가 그 흐름을 따라가는 그 불행이 시정될 수 없다면 본인을 포함한 일부라도 국민과 역사에 따라야 되지 않겠나. 내란 동조 세력이 되지 마시라"라고 당부했다.
그러면서 "윤 대통령을 탄핵하는 일에, 다시는 대한민국에 절대왕정을 꿈꾸는 자들이 활보할 수 없게 만드는 일에 함께하시길 바란다"라고 덧붙였다.
