문경시(시장 신현국)에 따르면 홍승찬 선수는 지난 11월 28일 영암군 실내체육관에서 열린 태백장사(80kg이하) 결정전(5판 3선승제)에서 장영진(영암군민속씨름단)을 상대로 3-1로 누르며 개인 통산 2번째 태백장사에 등극했다.

8강전에서 손명진(태안군청)을 상대로 2-0로 준결승전에 진출하였으며, 준결승전에서는 우승후보 정재욱(구미시청)을 상대로 첫 번째 경기를 선점하고 두 번째 경기에서는 화려한 기술의 뒤집기를 선보이며 2-0로 손쉽게 결승에 진출했다.
