브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 이재명 더불어민주당 대표가 4일 "위기는 곧 기회다. 이 나라가 후퇴의 후퇴를 거듭하고 있지만, 이번 불법 위헌의 계엄 선포로 인해 더 나쁜 상황으로 추락하는 것이 아니라, 이제 그 악순환을 끊어내고 다시 정상 사회로 되돌아가는 결정적인 계기가 될 것"이라고 밝혔다.
이 대표는 이날 열린 국회 본회의에서 비상계엄 해제 요구 결의안이 통과된 뒤 "비상계엄은 원래부터 무효였고, 국회 의결로 무효임이 다시 한번 확인됐다"라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "우리 국회는 주권자인 국민이 위임한 그 권한으로 국회를 지키면서, 민주공화국 대한민국 헌정 질서를 굳건하게 지켜 나가겠다"라며 "국민 여러분께서 이 민주공화정을 회복하는 이 엄중한 여정을 함께해주시기 바란다"라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "저와 우리 민주당 국회의원, 그리고 많은 이들이 목숨을 걸고 민주주의와 이 나라의 미래와 국민의 안전과 생명, 재산을 지켜내겠다"라고 했다.
