신용보증기금(이사장 최원목)은 12월 2일 광주과학기술원(총장 임기철, 이하 ‘GIST’)과 ‘혁신기술의 확산과 기술창업 생태계 조성을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다고 12월 3일 밝혔다.
이번 협약은 GIST에서 개발한 혁신기술의 민간 확산을 위한 협력체계를 구축하고, GIST의 연구개발 역량과 신용보증기금의 금융지원 전문성을 결합하여 지역 기반의 기술창업 생태계를 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 신용보증기금은 GIST의 기술을 이전받거나 사업화 연계 기술개발(R&BD)을 진행하는 기업에 보증을 지원할 예정이다. 또한, GIST가 추천한 교원 및 학생 창업기업, 기술이전기업을 대상으로 투자유치 프로그램과 맞춤형 솔루션 ‘이노베이션 1’ 등을 제공할 계획이다.
GIST는 신용보증기금에 혁신기업을 추천하고, 신용보증기금은 추천받은 기업에 기술지도를 통해 기술적 어려움을 극복하고 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.
최원목 신용보증기금 이사장은 “이번 협약을 통해 호남권 기업들이 GIST의 혁신기술을 활용하여 새로운 시장과 비즈니스를 창출하기를 기대한다”며 “신용보증기금은 앞으로도 우수 공공기술의 민간 확산과 지방시대 구현을 위한 노력을 지속해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

On December 2, the Credit Guarantee Fund (Chairman Choi Won-mok) announced that it signed a business agreement with Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (President Lim Ki-chul, hereinafter referred to as 'GIST') on December 3 to spread innovative technologies and create a technology startup ecosystem.
The agreement is designed to establish a cooperation system for the private diffusion of innovative technologies developed by GIST and to create a regionally-based technology startup ecosystem by combining GIST's R&D capabilities with the Credit Guarantee Fund's financial support expertise.
Under the agreement, the Credit Guarantee Fund will provide guarantees to companies that receive technology transfer from GIST or conduct R&D linked to commercialization. It will also provide investment programs and customized solutions such as 'Innovation 1' for faculty and student startups and technology transfer companies recommended by GIST.
GIST will recommend innovative companies to the Credit Guarantee Fund, and the Credit Guarantee Fund will provide technical guidance to the recommended companies to help them overcome technical difficulties and strengthen their competitiveness.
“Through this agreement, we expect companies in the Honam region to utilize GIST's innovative technologies to create new markets and businesses,” said Choi Won-mok, Chairman of the Credit Guarantee Fund. ”The Credit Guarantee Fund will continue its efforts to spread excellent public technologies to the private sector and realize the local era.”
