유한양행(대표 조욱제)은 온코마스터와 휴레이포지티브와 함께 인공지능(AI) 모델을 활용한 신약 개발을 위한 포괄적 공동연구 협력계약을 체결했다고 12월 3일 밝혔다. 이번 협력은 AI 기반 치료반응성 예측 플랫폼을 통해 새로운 바이오마커 발굴, 타깃 암종 및 환자군 선별, 병용요법 개발 등을 목표로 하며, 유한양행의 혁신 신약 파이프라인의 개발 성공률을 높이는 데 기여할 예정이다.
유한양행은 AI와 멀티오믹스 기반의 신약 개발 방법론을 도입하여 연구개발의 효율성을 극대화하고, 기존 기술로는 얻기 어려운 임상적 통찰을 확보할 계획이다.
조욱제 대표는 “제약산업은 데이터와 혁신의 융합이 핵심인 시대에 접어들었다”며, “이번 협력을 통해 신약 파이프라인 개발 성공률이 향상되기를 기대한다”고 전했다.
온코마스터의 장우영 대표는 “기존의 병리·영상 데이터 기반 치료 반응성 예측 AI 개발에서 벗어나, 유전체와 임상 데이터를 활용한 AI 개발에서 온코마스터가 글로벌 선두주자”라며, “유한양행의 신약 개발을 위해 모든 역량을 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
또한, 휴레이포지티브의 최두아 대표는 “자사의 AI 기술이 항암제 신약 개발에도 적용될 수 있게 되어 기쁘다”고 전했다.
이번 협력을 통해 유한양행은 정밀의학 기반의 혁신적 신약 개발 방식을 구현하고, 글로벌 신약 개발의 새로운 패러다임을 제시할 것으로 기대된다.

On December 3, Yuhan Corporation(CEO Wook-Je Cho) announced that it has signed a comprehensive collaborative research agreement with Oncomaster and Hurepositive to develop new drugs using artificial intelligence (AI) models. The collaboration aims to discover new biomarkers, identify targeted cancer types and patient populations, and develop combination therapies through an AI-based treatment response prediction platform, and will contribute to improving the development success rate of YL's pipeline of innovative new drugs.
By adopting AI and multi-omics-based drug discovery methodologies, the company plans to maximize R&D efficiency and gain clinical insights that are difficult to obtain with existing technologies.
