브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 더불어민주당이 3일 인사 청탁 의혹이 제기된 김상훈 국민의힘 정책위의장(대구 서구·4선)에 대한 중징계를 촉구했다.
윤종군 민주당 원내대변인은 이날 국회 소통관에서 브리핑을 통해 "김 의원의 공기업 인사 개입 정황이 포착됐다. 승진을 청탁하는 문자 메시지가 언론 카메라에 딱 걸린 것"이라며 "'청탁의힘' 김 의원을 즉각 중징계하시라"라고 밝혔다.
그는 "김 의원은 공기업 승진 인사를 앞두고 소속과 이름·사번까지 기재해서 대놓고 청탁을 해놓고, '지인을 위한 부탁'이었다며 억지 변명을 늘어놓았다"라며 "근무 기간도 안 채운 친척을 승진시켜 리더가 될 수 있도록 살펴달라는 게 청탁이 아니라면 대체 무엇인가? 지인을 위한 부탁이 바로 청탁"이라고 지적했다.
이어 "(국민의힘 공천 개입 의혹 핵심 당사자인) 명태균 씨가 대통령실과 경상남도 산하기관 인사 청탁으로 수사를 받고 있는 상황"이라며 "끊이지 않는 인사 청탁, 인사 비리 의혹에 자중해도 시원치 않을 집권 여당의 정책위의장이 앞장서서 인사 청탁이나 하고 있으니 정말 한심한 노릇"이라고 비판했다.
그러면서 "국민의힘은 국민께 사과하고 김상훈 의원을 당장 중징계하시라"라고 주장했다.
앞서 김상훈 국민의힘 의원은 지난 2일 국회 본회의장에서 공기업에 근무하는 친척에 대한 승진 인사를 청탁하는 듯한 문자 메시지를 확인하는 장면이 국제신문 카메라에 포착됐다.
김 의원은 친척을 위한 인사 청탁이 아닌, 지인의 부탁에 의한 문자였다며, 불이익이 없게 해달라고 전한 것이라고 해명했다.
