[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 내년 1월 1일부터 직영할 에콜리안 거창골프장의 새로운 명칭을 공모 최우수 당선작으로 선정된 ‘거창CC’로 확정했다고 3일 밝혔다.
군은 기존 명칭인 ‘에콜리안 거창골프장’을 저작권 문제로 사용할 수 없게 됨에 따라, 지난 10월 골프장의 새로운 이름을 정하기 위해 명칭 공모를 진행했다.
공모에는 총 528건의 응모작이 접수됐으며, 선호도 조사와 전문심사를 거쳐 최종 당선작을 선정했다.
심사 결과 △최우수 ‘거창CC’ △우수 ‘거창한CC’ △장려 ‘거창별바람CC’가 각각 당선작으로 선정됐으며, 선정된 제안자에 대해서는 시상금(최우수 50만 원, 우수 30만 원, 장려 20만 원)이 수여될 예정이다.
구인모 거창군수는 “새로운 명칭 ‘거창CC’는 군민들이 직접 참여해 선정된 이름이라는 점에서 더욱 특별한 의미가 있다”라며 “공공형 골프장으로서 ‘거창CC’가 골프 대중화의 마중물이 되길 기대하며, 많은 군민들이 골프를 즐길 수 있도록 직영 준비에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 에콜리안 골프장은 2016년 6월 개장 이후 국민체육진흥공단에서 운영해 왔으나, 지난 8월 13일 거창군과 국민체육진흥공단이 친환경 대중골프장 조기인수 협약을 체결함으로써, 2025년 1월 1일부터 거창군이 관리·운영권을 인수해 운영하게 된다.
