브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 우원식 국회의장이 국회의 2025년도 예산안 처리 법정 기한인 2일 "고심 끝에 오늘 본회의에 예산안을 상정하지 않기로 했다"라고 밝혔다. 국회의장의 이번 결정으로 국회는 결국 예산안 처리 법정기한을 지키지 못하게 됐다. 헌법에 따르면 국회는 회계연도 개시 30일 전까지 예산안을 의결해야 한다.
우 의장은 이날 국회에서 내년도 예산안 관련 긴급회견을 열고 "법정기한 미준수를 감수하면서까지 예산안의 본회의 상정을 미룬 이유는, 현재로서는 예산안 처리가 국민께 희망을 드리기 어렵다고 판단해서"라며 예산안을 상정하지 않기로 했다고 전했다.
