브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 한동훈 국민의힘 대표가 검찰이 '국민의힘 공천 개입' 의혹과 관련해 중앙당사를 압수수색한 일과 관련해 "과거에 명태균 씨 같은 정치 브로커가 활동할 수 있었던 그런 상황들에 대해 국민들께 죄송스럽게 생각한다"라고 밝혔다.
한 대표는 28일 국회에서 열린 당 최고위원회의에 참석해 이같이 말하며 "수사 과정과 결과를 지켜보겠다"라고 했다. 그러면서 "지금, 앞으로 우리 당에서는 명 씨 같은 선거 브로커는 용납되지 않을 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
그는 "이미 지난 4월 총선에서도 그런 유사한 시도는 성공하지 못했다는 점을 분명히 해둔다"라며 "김영선 전 의원 등 그런 문제 공천에 대해서는 경선 기회도 안 주고 가차 없이 쳐냈다는 말씀 다시 한번 드린다"라고 강조했다.
아울러 "그런 것들이 극복해야 될 구태 정치고, 반드시 그렇게 하겠다"라고 했다.
한 대표는 공천 개입 의혹으로 불거진 여론조사의 문제점도 개선하겠다고 밝혔다. 그는 "우리 당 차원의 '여론조사경선개선 TF(태스크포스)'에서도 철저히 문제점을 파악하고 재발 방지 대책을 마련할 것"이라며 "여의도연구원장을 팀장으로 해서 법률위, 당무감사위, 사무처 등의 필요한 인원으로 구성될 것이고, 앞으로 이런 일이 재발하지 않도록, 제2의 명태균이 나오지 않도록 하는 일을 하겠다"라고 말했다.
