윤석열 대통령이 27일 우크라이나 특사단과 만나 "북한 러시아 파병 등 러·북 군사협력으로 인한 안보 위협에 대처키 위해 한·우크라이나가 실효적 대응 방안을 강구해 나가길 바란다"고 말했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실에서 방한 중인 루스템 우메로우 우크라이나 국방장관 등 특사단을 접견하고 이같이 말했다. 북의 러시아 파병이 공식 확인되자 볼로디미르 젤렌스키 우크라이나 대통령은 무기 지원 등 안보 협력을 논의할 특사단을 한국에 파견했다.
우메로우 특사는 "러·북 군사협력 고도화에 대응키 위한 한국과의 협력 방안을 적극 모색하란 볼로디미르 젤렌스키 대통령 지시에 따라 국방·외교·경제부 등으로 구성된 범정부 대표단을 이끌고 한국을 방문했다"며 "최근 다양한 채널을 통해 양국 간 긴밀한 소통·협력이 이뤄지고 있어 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다.
