브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 여당인 국민의힘이 27일 주최한 정년 연장 토론회에서 정년 연장 정책의 혜택을 대기업·공공 부문만 입게 될 것이라는 지적이 나왔다.
이상희 한국공학대학교 지식융합학부 교수는 이날 국회에서 열린 국민의힘 격차해소특별위원회 정책 토론회 '정년 연장 쟁점과 과제'에 발제자로 나서 "정년 연장의 수혜자는 모두가 아니라, 결국은 대기업·공공 부문 쪽으로 가고 있다는 것을 부인하기 어렵다"라고 밝혔다.
그는 "60세 이상 임금 근로자는 거의 95% 이상이 중소기업에 밀집해 있다"라며 "이 이야기는 중소기업에는 지금도 사실상 정년 연장과 같은 일을 하고 있다는 것"이라고 말했다.
이 교수는 또 "대기업이 정년 연장을 했을 경우에는 고용 시장의 변화 가능성에도 주목해야 한다"라며 "조기 퇴직 압력도 많이 갈 것 같다"라고 경고했다.
그는 "그동안 정부에서 이중 노동시장 구조, 양극화 계속 얘길 하는데, 그걸 줄일 수 있는 부분이 사실 마땅치 않다"라며 "정년 연장을 법적 정년 연장식으로 하다 보면, 이 부분은 더 커지면 커졌지 좁혀질 가능성보다 크다"라고 봤다.
이어 "저는 일단은 정년 연장보다는 재고용 방안 쪽에 좀 무게를 두고 있다"라며 "어쨌든 지금 현재 상황 같은 경우에서는 법적 정년 연장으로 가기는 상당히 어렵겠다는 생각"이라고 밝혔다.
이날 토론에 참석한 한동훈 국민의힘 대표는 이 교수의 발언 직후 "저희가 '정년 연장 등'이라고 표현하는 것은 교수님 말씀하신 재고용이라든가, 임금체계 개편 통한 여러 가지, 어쨌든 간에 일하고 싶은 사람이 계속 더 일할 수 있게 하는 모든 포괄적인 논의의 주제라는 점"이라고 부연했다.
앞서 한 대표는 이날 모두 발언에서도 정년 연장 문제와 관련해 "단순하게 찬반 문제로 접근할 문제는 아니다"라며 "일하고 싶으면 계속 일할 수 있도록 정년 연장 등을 제도 개혁하자는 말씀"이라고 말했다.
조경태 국민의힘 격차해소특위 위원장은 "좀 전에 한 대표께서 말씀하신 그런 우려도 다 법령에 담아내겠다"라고 답했다.
