(광주=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=광주은행은 최근, 창립 56주년을 기념하여 지역 내 소외계층 및 청년을 대상으로 한 문화특강을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 특강은 광주은행이 지속적으로 추진하고 있는 지역사회와 청년 지원을 위한 사회공헌 활동의 일환으로, 단순 금융 지원을 넘어 청년들의 꿈과 도전을 응원하기 위해 마련됐다.
이번 문화특강에는 유튜브 구독자 122만명을 보유한 유명 과학 유튜버 궤도를 초청해 “인공지능 AI, 어디까지 왔을까·”라는 주제로 청년들과 만나 AI의 발전과 미래 가능성에 대해 흥미롭게 이야기 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
유튜버 궤도는 특유의 쉬운 설명과 입담으로 과학을 쉽게 풀어내 대중에게 큰 사랑을 받고 있으며, 이번 특강에 참석한 소외계층 및 청년들에게 AI를 포함한 신기술에 대한 과학적 사고와 통찰력을 제공하는 동시에 미래 사회를 주도할 청년들에게 도전을 위한 동기를 부여해 참석자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었다.
행사에 참석한 한 청년은 “평소 과학에 관심이 없었는데, 이번 강의를 통해 과학이 이렇게 재미있고 흥미로운 분야라는 걸 느꼈다. 앞으로도 이런 강연이 많아졌으면 좋겠다.”고 소감을 전했다.
한편 광주은행은 지역의 소외계층 및 청년들을 위해 ‘희망이 꽃피는 공부방(129호)’, ‘희망이 꽃피는 꿈나무(10호)’, ‘희망이 꽃피는 봉사단’ 등을 운영하며 지연 인재 양성을 위한 교육지원부터 소년소녀·다문화가정 등 사회적 약자에 대한 지원활동에도 힘쓰고 있다.
