『김대중 자서전』과 『새벽: 김대중 평전』 쓴 김택근 작가가 쓴 묵언이란 저서가 출간(동아시아 출판사)됐다.
출판사 측은 “오랜 기자 활동으로 얻은 단단한 논리와 시적 정서는 수많은 독자의 마음에 깊은 울림을 전해왔다. 중언부언 설명하지 않고 본질에 닿으나, 인간과 자연 앞에서 언제나 겸허한 저자의 글은 맑고 예리해 어지러운 마음을 정화한다”고 소개한다.

현대문학가. 수필가. 1983년 박두진 시인 추천으로 잡지 《현대문학》에 시를 발표하며 시인으로 등단했다. 응축된 문장과 감정선을 파고드는 문체가 특색이다. 동국대학교 국문학과를 졸업했다. 경향신문에서 종합편집장, 문화부장, 논설위원 등을 역임했다. 파격과 정곡을 찌르는 신문 편집자로, 예리하면서 따뜻한 시선을 담은 칼럼 필자로서 시대를 말해왔다. 김대중 전 대통령이 직접 요청해 『김대중 자서전』을 썼고, 『성철 평전』 『용성 평전』도 집필했다. 도법 스님과 함께 걸은 국토순례 기록인 『사람의 길 - 생명평화 순례기』처럼 평화와 생태의 중요함을 강조한 글을 다수 썼다. 『몽실언니』로 유명한 은둔 동화작가 권정생 선생을 처음 인터뷰했고, 그 인연으로 『강아지똥별 - 별이 된 사람 권정생』이라는 동화책을 내기도 했다. 그 밖에 동화책 『벌거벗은 수박도둑』, 에세이집 『뿔난 그리움』 등이 있다. 정읍시 신태인읍 출신이다.
