유한양행이 ESG경영 학술연구 지원을 위해 '유한 ESG 학술상' 시상식을 개최했다.
유한양행(대표이사 조욱제)은 11월 15일, 성균관대학교 국제관에서 (사)한국전문경영인학회와 ‘제2회 유한ESG학술상 시상식’을 개최했다고 11월 18일 밝혔다..
유한ESG학술상은 ESG경영 분야 학술연구를 활성화하기 위해 한국전문경영인학회가 주관하고 유한양행이 후원하여 작년에 신설된 시상제도로 국내외 ESG경영 분야의 이론, 정책, 실무에 관한 우수한 연구를 지원하고 있다.
유한양행에 따르면 ‘제2회 유한ESG학술상’ 대상에는 임재구 홍콩 링난대학교(Lingnan, 嶺南大學) 교수와 정원준 숭실대 교수가 공동으로 연구한 논문이 선정됐다. 또한 최우수상에는 이재은 국립순천대 교수가 선정되었다. 대상에는 1천만원, 최우수상 500만원의 상금과 상장이 수여되었다.
이병만 유한양행 부사장은 축사를 통해 “이번 학술상이 오늘 수상자를 포함한 국내외 ESG 분야의 연구자들을 지원하고, 학술적 연구를 활성화하는데 기여하길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
유한양행은 (사)한국전문경영인학회에서 지속가능경영을 선도적으로 실천한 유한양행 창업자 고(故) 유일한 박사의 경영이념을 재조명하고, ESG경영 연구 활성화에 기여하고자 한다는 학술상 신설 취지에 공감하여 2023년에 처음으로 이 상을 후원하게 되었으며, 앞으로도 ESG경영 분야의 학술연구 활동을 지원할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

Yuhan Corporation the 'Yuhan ESG Academic Award' ceremony to support academic research on ESG management.
On November 15, the company announced that it held the '2nd HHI ESG Academic Award Ceremony' with the Korea Professional Management Association at Sungkyunkwan University International Center.
The Yuhan ESG Academic Award is an award system established last year by the Korea Society of Professional Managers and sponsored by Yuhan Corporation to revitalize academic research in the field of ESG management, and supports outstanding research on theory, policy, and practice in the field of ESG management at home and abroad.
According to Yuhan Corporation, the grand prize of the 2nd Hankook ESG Academic Award was awarded to a paper jointly researched by Prof. Jae-Koo Lim of Lingnan University in Hong Kong and Prof. Jung Jun Won of Soongsil University. The grand prize was awarded to Professor Lee Jae-eun of Soonchun National University. The grand prize of 10 million won and the first prize of 5 million won were awarded as well as a certificate.
“We hope that this academic award will support researchers in the field of ESG at home and abroad, including today's winners, and contribute to revitalizing academic research,” said Byung Man Lee, vice president of Yuhan Corporation.
In agreement with the purpose of the award, which is to revisit the management philosophy of the late Dr. Yu IlHan, the founder of the company, who pioneered sustainable management, and to contribute to the revitalization of ESG management research, the Korean Society of Professional Managers announced that it will sponsor the award for the first time in 2023 and will continue to support academic research activities in the field of ESG management.
