[브레이크뉴스경기남부=화성 이현준기자] 화성시는 2024년 ‘코리아 스포츠진흥 대상’ 생활체육 부문 대상을 수상했다.
‘코리아 스포츠진흥 대상’은 스포츠동아가 주최하고 문화체육관광부, 대한체육회, 국민체육진흥공단 등이 후원하는 상으로 △스포츠 산업 및 서비스 홍보 △스포츠 기업의 창업과 성장 지원기반 구축 △소비자에게 신뢰받는 스포츠산업 브랜드 창출 △모범사례 선정 및 시상을 주 목적으로 한다.
화성시는 생활체육 활성화를 위해 전국 최초로 스포츠데이를 지정하고 공공체육시설을 무료 개방해 시민들에게 생활체육 참여 기회를 제공했고 장애인과 비장애인 모두 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 반다비 체육센터 건립하는 등 시민들의 건강 증진에 기여한 점 등에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
