김대중 대통령의 민주주의, 평화, 인권을 위한 여정에 함께한 <길 위에 100인의 ‘동지’> 출판기념회가 오늘(2024년, 11월 11일 월) 오후 2시 국회박물관 2층 체험관에서 열렸다.
이날 100인의 ‘동지’ 출판기념회에는 권노갑 김대중재단 이사장을 비롯하여 문희상 김대중 탄생 100주년기념사업준비위원장과 김대중 평전을 집필한 김택근 작가를 비롯하여 이번에 출간된 ‘김대중과 함께한 길 위에 100인의 ‘동지’ 필진으로 참가한 100인의 옛 동지들과 그 밖의 많은 축하객들이 모여 성황을 이루는 가운데 열렸다.

책 내용은 김대중 전 대통령 탄생 100주년을 맞아 민주화 투쟁과 김대중 정권 탄생을 위해 그와 가까이서 동고동락했던 100인의 사연과 추억을 엮어 소중한 경험을 공유하고 그 역사적 의미를 되새기기 위해 집필자 100인을 선정하여 책을 출간했다.
권노갑 이사장은 격려사에서 ‘하늘에 계시는 김대중 선생께서도 기뻐할 것이다. 여러분이 자랑스럽다 나는 여러분의 영원한 동지다 앞으로도 변함없는 마음으로 여러분과 같이 할 것이다.’라고 했고, 이어 문희상 준비위원장은 ‘식구란 같이 밥을 먹는 사이다. 우리는 젊은 날 눈물로 거리를 누비며 눈물의 밥을 함께 먹던 사이’라면서 ‘민초들과 함께 사신 김대중 선생과 함께 했기에 길 위에 동지다.’라는 점을 강조했다. 또한 김택근 작가는 ‘동지들의 헌신은 역사가 기억할 것’이라는 서평을 내놨다.

이번 김대중 탄생 100주년 기념 책 ‘동지’를 기획하게 된 동기는 연초 김대중 재단 지도위원회 출범을 계기로 배기선 사무총장의 제안으로 이루어졌다. 필자 선정 기준은 김대중 대통령이 1963년 강원도 인재 국회의원 보궐선거에 출마할 때부터 1997년 대통령선거를 치르기까지의 인물 중에서 아래와 같은 기준으로 선정 위촉했다.
▲지구당 위원장(평민당과에서 97년 민주당)에 ▲중앙당 국장단)71년 대선에서 97년 대선에 이르기까지 선대위 당직자를 역임한 사람 ▲민추협과 비서실 출신 ▲공기업 임원 ▲광역의원, ▲기초단체장과 의회의장, ▲유공재외동포 ▲고인이 된 인물 중 기록으로 공유할 사유가 있는 사람들이다.
이어 2부 순서에서는 박장훈 고수의 장단에 맞춰 김영춘 ‘동지’ 편집위원장의 김대중 옥중 단가(판소리)가 열창이 있은 후 김병호, 이윤자, 김갑주 필진 세 사람의 소회 발표에 이어 권노갑 이사장이 김기영 박대영 이용주 씨에게 감사패 증정과 김영춘, 박우섭, 정형만, 조치영, 주태문 씨에게 공로패를 증정하는 것으로 기념회를 마쳤다.

The book is about the 100th anniversary of the birth of former President Kim Dae-jung, and the stories and memories of 100 people who shared his precious experiences and reflected on the historical significance of the book by selecting 100 writers.
In his words of encouragement, Chairman Kwon No-gap said, “Mr. Kim Dae-jung in heaven will be happy too. I am proud of you all. I am your eternal comrade. I will continue to be with you with an unchanging heart.” Then, Chairman Moon Hee-sang emphasized, “Family means eating together. We were friends who cried and ate together in tears when we were young,” and “We are comrades on the road because we were with Mr. Kim Dae-jung, who lived with the common people.” In addition, author Kim Taek-geun wrote a book review saying, “History will remember the devotion of comrades.”

Meanwhile, the motivation for planning this book ‘Comrades’ commemorating the 100th anniversary of Kim Dae-jung’s birth was the suggestion of Secretary General Bae Ki-seon at the launch of the Kim Dae-jung Foundation Steering Committee at the beginning of the year. The criteria for selecting the author were as follows: from the time when President Kim Dae-jung ran for the Gangwon-do Injae by-election in 1963 to the 1997 presidential election, the following criteria were used to select and commission the author:

In the second part, there was a passionate performance of Kim Dae-jung’s prison song (Pansori) by Kim Young-chun, the editor-in-chief of Comrades, to the rhythm of Park Jang-hoon, and then the three contributors, Kim Byeong-ho, Lee Yun-ja, and Kim Gap-ju, gave their thoughts, and then Chairman Kwon No-gap presented plaques of appreciation to Kim Ki-young, Park Dae-young, and Lee Yong-ju, and plaques of merit to Kim Young-chun, Park Woo-seop, Jeong Hyeong-man, Jo Chi-yeong, and Joo Tae-moon, ending the commemorative event.
