경상북도와 경주시가 주최하고 경북문화관광공사(사장 김남일, 이하 공사)가 주관한 ‘더 쇼! 신라하다’는 지난해 초연 이후 더욱 새로워진 무대와 업그레이드된 작품성으로 관객 12,786명을 기록하며 2년 연속 1만 명 이상의 관객을 모았다.
실감 나는 영상과 조명, 디테일을 살린 의상과 소품은 물론, 대본 수정과 신규 넘버 추가 등을 통해 공연의 완성도를 한층 높였다.
특히 ‘승만 공주’ 역을 맡은 뮤지컬 배우 린지는 신규 넘버 ‘정답 없는 것을’을 감성적인 연기와 뛰어난 가창력으로 완벽히 소화하며 관객들에게 깊은 감동을 선사했다.
린지는 “아름다운 가사와 멜로디에 제 목소리를 더할 수 있어 너무나 큰 영광이었다”, “이 곡이 많은 분들께 닿아 힐링과 힘이 되길 바란다”며 소감을 밝혔다. 린지의 ‘정답 없는 것을’과 남경주의 ‘마음을 싣는 일’은 국내 음원 사이트를 통해 곧 발매될 예정이다.
올해 공연에는 기존 출연진뿐만 아니라 새로운 배우들이 합류해 신선한 케미와 시너지를 보여주었다. 예술감독과 배우 역할을 모두 수행한 남경주는 “올해도 ‘더 쇼! 신라하다’를 사랑해주신 경주 시민들과 공사 관계자분들께 진심으로 감사드린다”, “더 멋진 모습으로 다시 만나기를 기약한다”며 소회를 밝혔다.
이번 공연에 새롭게 합류한 배우 오만석은 “신비로운 인물 ‘밀본’과 함께 신라시대로 여행을 함께 해서 즐거웠다. 또 기회가 온다면 더 많은 여행을 함께 하고 싶다”고 소감을 남겼다.
이번 공연은 한국수력원자력(주)과 월성원자력본부가 문화 취약계층 아동들을 비롯한 지역 주민들을 초청해 공연을 관람하는 등 경북 지역 사회와 함께했다. 또한 경주, 포항 등 인근지역 학생 단체 관람이 이어졌으며, 일본, 중국 등 해외 관객들도 공연을 찾아 글로벌 경쟁력을 확인했다.
김남일 사장은 “신나는 쇼의 세상에 함께 해주신 관객 여러분 덕분에 공연을 성황리에 잘 마칠 수 있었다”며, “2025년에는 경주 APEC 정상회의와 보문관광단지 50주년을 기념해 ‘더 쇼! 신라하다’ 특별공연을 선보여 경북의 문화산업을 세계로 확장하는데 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

In particular, musical actress Lindsay, who played the role of ‘Princess Seungman,’ perfectly performed the new number ‘No Answer’ with emotional acting and outstanding singing skills, deeply moving the audience.
Lindsay said, “It was such an honor to be able to add my voice to the beautiful lyrics and melody,” and “I hope this song reaches many people and brings healing and strength.” Lindsay’s “No Answer” and Nam Kyung-joo’s “Carrying the Heart” will soon be released on domestic music sites.
In this year’s performance, not only the original cast but also new actors joined to show fresh chemistry and synergy. Nam Kyung-joo, who took on the roles of artistic director and actor, said, “I sincerely thank the citizens of Gyeongju and the construction staff who loved ‘The Show! Shilla’ this year,” and “I look forward to meeting you again in a better form.”
Actor Oh Man-seok, who newly joined this performance, said, “It was fun to travel to the Shilla era with the mysterious figure ‘Milbon.’ If I get another chance, I want to travel together more.”
This performance was held in collaboration with the Gyeongbuk region, with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Headquarters inviting children from culturally vulnerable groups and local residents to watch the performance. In addition, student groups from nearby regions such as Gyeongju and Pohang watched the performance, and overseas audiences from Japan and China also visited the performance to confirm its global competitiveness.
