27년째 자체 사옥인, 이 건축물이 있는 주소(건축물)는 '서울시 서대문구 합동 21-7'입니다.

이 사옥은 서울시 서대문구청 건물 등기부 등본에 의하면, 이 건물의 사용 승인일이 1936년 11월9일로 등재돼 있습니다. 사옥 규모는 A동 3개 층, B동 3개 층=총 6개 층, 대지 170평입니다. 이 건축물은 일본 건축계의 고수 목수들이 1936년에 지은, 아름다운, 기풍이 있는, 목조 건물입니다.
이 건축물은 올해 11월9일로 88주년을 맞는, 건축물에겐 미수(米壽)의 날입니다. 미수(米壽)=사람으로 치면 88세란, 미수(米壽)=생일날 입니다. 사람들은 이 좋은 날을 기해, 여든 여덟(88세) 생일 축하 여행을 떠나기도 합니다. 사람들에게 있어, 88세 생일날은 아주 좋은 날 중의 좋은 날이기 때문입니다.
필자는 이 건축물을 신문사의 사옥으로 삼고, 지난 27년 간 언론사(매체 종류=주간신문-일간신문-인터넷신문)를 운영해왔습니다.
“건축물의 생일 미수(米壽)를 어떻게 축하해야 할까?“를, 고민해 봤습니다.
그 역사성을 생각하며 "팔팔하게, 동서남북...글로벌 국제사회로 나아가는 언론 매체들의 사옥"이라고, 묵시(黙視)를 해봤습니다. 특히 대한민국 중심역인 서울역 가까이에 위치, 남북왕래-대륙왕래 시 요지에 해당합니다.
이어 노병한 한국미래예측연구소장에게 필자가 사주(社主)인 신문사의 사옥으로 사용해온 건축물의 사주(四柱)가 어떠한지를 물어봤습니다. 건축물 사주보기는, 태어나서 이번이 처음입니다. 아래는 그 답(答)입니다.

서울시 영등포구 여의도동에 건축된 63빌딩은 1985년 7월27일 준공됐습니다. 올해 39세 생일을 보냈습니다. 필자 소유의 사옥의 나이와 63빌딩의 나이를 비교하면, 49년 차이가 납니다. 신문사 사옥이 그만큼 유서(幽棲)가 깊다는 이야기입니다. 서울 안에 획일적으로, 현대식 건물로 가득 찼다면, 얼마나 단조롭겠습니까? 유서 깊은(그윽함이 깃들인), 건물도 있어야 만이, 수백 년 된, 서울이라는 거대 도시의 깊은 맛이 나지 않겠습니까? 그런 점에서 나는 내 회사의 사옥(社屋)을 좋아합니다.
필자의 생일은 아니더라도, 이 건축물(서울시 서대문구 합동 21-7)의 88세 생일을 축하해주고 싶습니다. 그래서 아래와 같이 축하 글을 써보았습니다.
“건축물아, 88세 생일을 축하한다. 그 동안 나의 언론사를 국제적인 언론사로 키워준 것을 감사하게 생각한다. 고마워~”
나는 이 사옥을 향해 “아름다운 사옥아, 인터넷 신문 '브레이크뉴스(www.breaknews.com)와 종이신문 '주간현대' '사건의 내막'이 더욱더 팔팔하게, 동서남북으로=글로벌 국제사회로 나아가도록 무한정(無限定) 도와주라!"고 당부했습니다, 하하하....
[후기]나는 1976년 어머니가 손에 쥐여 준 3,000원을 가지고 서울에 올라왔습니다. 그야말로 "맨땅에 헤딩", 이 사옥을 장만했습니다. 그 생각을 할 때마다, 이마에서 붉은 선혈(피)이 주르르 흘러내립니다.
나의 이마가 넓은 이유? 수십 년 간 맨땅에 헤딩을 하다보니까 이마가 태평양 보다 더 넓어졌습니다. 하하하... 맨땅에 헤딩!! moonilsuk@naver.com
The building of the media company where I am the owner celebrates its 88th birthday
[Essay-like Approach] A Newspaper Building with a Long History “Adding a Deep Taste to the Hundreds of Years of the Huge City of Seoul!”

The media small group ‘Media Pen Group’ where I am the owner publishes ‘Break News (www.breaknews.com),’ ‘Weekly Hyundai,’ and ‘The Inside Story of the Incident’ as internet newspapers, and ‘Weekly Hyundai’ and ‘The Inside Story of the Incident’ as paper weekly newspapers.
The address (building) of this building, which has been our own building for 27 years, is ‘21-7, Hapdong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.’
According to the copy of the Seoul Seodaemun-gu Office building registration, the date of approval for use of this building is registered as November 9, 1936. The building is 6 stories in total, with 3 floors in Building A and 3 floors in Building B, and the land area is 170 pyeong. This building is a beautiful, elegant wooden building built in 1936 by master carpenters in the Japanese architectural world.
This building celebrates its 88th anniversary on November 9th of this year, which is Misu (米壽) Day for buildings. Misu (米壽) = 88 years old for a person, and Misu (米壽) = birthday. People sometimes go on a trip to celebrate their 88th birthday on this good day. This is because for people, their 88th birthday is one of the best days of all.
I have used this building as the headquarters of a newspaper company and have been running a media company (type of media = weekly newspaper - daily newspaper - online newspaper) for the past 27 years.
“How should we celebrate the building’s birthday?” I pondered.
Thinking about its historical significance, I silently observed, “A vibrant, east, west, south, north… headquarters of media outlets advancing toward a global international society.” In particular, it is located close to Seoul Station, the central station of South Korea, making it a key location for travel between the South and the North and continents.
Next, I asked Noh Byeong-han, the director of the Korea Future Forecasting Institute, what the four pillars of the building I have used as the headquarters of my newspaper company are like. This is my first time looking at the four pillars of a building. Below is the answer.
“▲ Four pillars of a building = November 9, 1936. 1936, year of Byeong-ja. November, month of Ji-hae. 09th day of Eul-mi. Byeong = sun. Ji = sunspot (black hole) on the sun.乙=All living beings. ▲Interpretation=The headquarters of Break News can be defined as a building with a mature and grand energy that can grow into a ‘media company centered on all things in the universe. ’”
The 63 Building, built in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, was completed on July 27, 1985. It turned 39 this year. If you compare the age of the building I own with the age of the 63 Building, there is a difference of 49 years. This means that the newspaper company’s headquarters has a deep history. How monotonous would it be if Seoul were filled with uniform, modern buildings? Wouldn’t there be buildings with a deep history (a sense of nostalgia) to give Seoul, a huge city that is hundreds of years old, a deep flavor? In that sense, I like my company’s headquarters. Even though it is not my birthday, I would like to congratulate this building (21-7, Hapdong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul) on its 88th birthday. So I wrote the following congratulatory message: “Building, congratulations on your 88th birthday. I am grateful that you have helped my media company grow into an international media company. Thank you~”
I said to this office building, “Beautiful office building, please help the internet newspaper ‘Break News (www.breaknews.com)’ and the paper newspapers ‘Weekly Hyundai’ and ‘The Inside Story of the Incident’ to become even more vibrant, and advance to the global international society in all directions, east, west, south, and north!” Hahaha....
[Review] I came to Seoul in 1976 with 3,000 won that my mother gave me. I literally “headed on the bare ground”, and bought this office building. Every time I think about it, red blood runs down my forehead.
Why is my forehead so wide? After heading on the bare ground for decades, my forehead has become wider than the Pacific Ocean. Hahaha... Heading on the bare ground!! moonilsuk@naver.com
