사단법인 서울아리랑보존회(이사장 유명옥)가 주최하고 국회, 서울시, 서울시의회, 송파구청 등이 후원한 제14회 서울아리랑페어(Seoul Arirang Fair)가 지난 2~3일 서울 송파구 서울놀이마당에서 열렸다.

<역사와 함께하는 서울아리랑>이라는 소제목으로 열린 이번 축제는 공연, 경연, 학술, 체험 등으로 구성하였으며 전통 아리랑 창작곡으로 서울아리랑의 역사, 문화, 예술적 가치를 공감하고 이해하는 자리였다.
한겨레 아리랑 연합회 김연갑 이사장의 사회로 멋지게 풀어가는 이번 축제에 김포, 군포, 제주, 공주, 문경, 제주 등 여러 아리랑 보존회가 우정 출연했다. 이 날 함께 한 국악인 남상일 교수의 농익은 남도민요는 듣는 이들의 흥을 돋우기에 충분했다. 국악인 남상일 출연 때 2,000여명의 관객이 열광하기도 했다.
서울아리랑의 유적지를 탐방하여 만든 영상은 과연 서울아리랑은 우리의 역사이며 고부가가치의 서울의 무형자산임을 확인했다. 일본의 야욕을 눈치채고 조심히 부르는 명성황후 아리랑, 민족의 큰별 안중근아리랑, 유관순 언니에게 바치는 독립군 아리랑, 삼천만 동포가 목이 터지게 불렀던 광복군 아리랑 등을 부르자 일부 관객들은 눈시울을 붉히기도 했다.

각국의 언어로 번역하여 부르는 주제가 아리랑은 세계속의 아리랑을 실감하게 했다. 더하여 진화한 아리랑은 발랄하게 만들어져 송파 아리랑으로 멋지게 진화되어 가고 있었다.
