권오문 작가의 “다 함께 누리는 행복”이란 저서가 출간(도서출판/울림과 세움) 됐다.
출판사측은 소개말에서 “인류의 오랜 꿈인 다 함께 누리는 행복한 세상은 언제 이뤄질까? 그리고 성인들이 추구해 온 이상사회의 실현은 가능한가?”라고 따지면서 “우리는 오늘날 인류가 직면하고 있는 시대 흐름은 빈부 격차와 갖가지 차별 현상을 극복하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있다는 것에 주목해야 한다. 특히 과학기술의 눈부신 발전에 따라 경제적 평준화가 가능하다는 점이다. 예를 들면, 지금은 인공지능(AI) 등 과학기술이 이룩한 공장 자동화를 통해 대량생산이 가능해졌고, 최근 정보통신기술(ICT)을 접목한 스마트 농업과 양식 기술의 발전으로 먹고 살아가는 문제는 자연스럽게 해결될 것으로 점쳐지고 있다. 물론 북유럽 등 선진국이 추진하는 복지사회 건설도 이와 맞닿아 있다. 그래서 우리는 모든 사람이 차별 없이 오순도순 행복하게 살아가는 세상을 머지않아 볼 수도 있을 것”이라고 다 진단했다.
이 책(다 함께 누리는 행복)은 저자는 “오늘날 인류가 겪고 있는 빈부 격차와 분쟁, 기후 재앙 등 문명사적 위기를 극복하기 위한 대안으로 신·인간·자연 관계의 회복을 통한 생명공동체 실현 방안을 제시하면서 누구나 차별 없이 행복하게 살아가는 세상을 이뤄나가기 위한 길을 모색하고 있다. 이제 인류가 그동안 찾아낸 다양한 지혜를 기반으로 새로운 가치관으로 무장하여 우리의 생각과 생활방식 등 모든 삶의 패러다임을 담대하게 전환한다면 인류의 당면한 위기를 기회로 바꾸고 희망찬 미래를 열어갈 수 있을 것”으로 보고 있다.
저자는 “우리 인간은 누구나 불행을 물리치고 영원한 행복을 누리기 위해 몸부림치고 있다. 그래서 어떤 종교이든 모든 사람이 행복하게 살아가는 이상세계를 꿈꿔왔다. 그리고 신을 부정하는 공산주의도 ‘능력에 따라 일하고, 필요에 따라 나누는’ 평등사회 실현을 공언했으나, 아직도 인간의 그러한 꿈은 요원하기만 하다. 왜 그럴까? 우선 우리는 누구나 차별 없이 행복하게 살아가는 이상사회를 실현하기 위해 노력해 온 분들이 성인들임을 알고 있다. 그러나 그들의 가르침을 따르는 종교인들이 인류의 절대다수를 차지하지만, 성인들의 꿈이 아직도 이뤄지지 않는 이유를 알아야 한다”면서 “요즘 세상은 온갖 갈등과 분쟁이 끊이질 않으면서 인간 자체의 모순성을 고스란히 드러내고 있지만, 어떤 종교도 인류가 직면한 현안을 근원적으로 해결할 수 있는 길을 제시하지 못하고 있다. 그리고 요즘 종교인들은 대부분 신을 믿고 열심히 신앙생활을 하게 되면 이러한 고통에서 벗어날 수 있다고 생각하지만, 그것은 인간의 모순성을 해결할 수 있는 근본적인 방안이 될 수 없다는 것이다. 그래서 우리는 인간이 무지에 떨어지고 고통 속에서 벗어나지 못하게 된 근본 원인부터 찾아야 한다. 그것은 우선 탐욕으로 똘똘 뭉친 인간의 모순과 한계 때문이다. 오늘날 종교인들이 겉으로는 서로 사랑해야 한다고 말하면서도 실제로는 탐욕에 젖어 자기 집단의 이익만을 챙기면서 종교 간의 갈등이 세계 분쟁의 가장 큰 원인이 되고 있다. 특히 기독교는 모든 기득권을 내려 놓고 누구나 차별없이 살아가는 하늘나라 공동체를 실현하고자 했으나 이러한 예수 정신은 사라지고 ‘믿으면 천당에 간다’는 식으로 개인 중심의 신앙에 열중하면서 교파 이기주의에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이처럼 성인들은 자신의 탐욕을 내려놓고 서로 사랑해야 한다고 가르치면서 우리 인간이 가야 할 전형 노정을 보여주었으나 종교인들은 그 반대의 길을 가고 있다”고 지적했다.
