(나주=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전국 113만 지체장애인의 화합과 단결, 소통을 위한 제13회 전국 지체장애인체육대회가 16일 나주종합스포츠파크 종합운동장에서 열렸다.
(사)한국지체장애인협회가 주최하고, (사)전남지체장애인협회와 한국지체장애인협회 스포츠연맹이 공동 주관하며, 보건복지부, 전라남도, 나주시 등이 후원하는 이번 대회는 전국 17개 시·도 지체장애인협회 회원 6천여 명이 대거 참여한 스포츠 축제의 장으로 치러졌다.
개회식에는 김영록 전남도지사와 김태균 전남도의회 의장, 윤병태 나주시장, 황재연 한국지체장애인협회장, 김종택 전남지체장애인협회장과 전국 협회장 등이 참석했다.
행사는 31사단 군악대와 중창단의 식전 공연으로 화려한 시작을 알리고 31사단 나주대대와 17개 시·도 기수단 입장, 개회 선언, 우승기 반납, 대회사, 축사, 선수대표 선서 순으로 진행됐다.
(사)한국지체장애인협회는 광역자치단체 최초로 바우처 택시를 도입해 22개 모든 시군 장애인의 이동권 향상과 권익 보호에 기여한 김영록 지사에게 감사패를 수여했다.
김영록 지사는 “장애인 생활체육 저변을 확대하고 화합과 단결, 지역 간 소통을 통한 하나 된 공동체 형성을 위해 전국 지체장애인체육대회가 큰 역할을 하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어우러져 행복한 복지사회를 만들도록 전남도가 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
한편 대회 경기에선 지체장애인이 손쉽게 참여할 수 있는 미니파크 골프, 한궁, 슐런, 투호, 빅볼굴리기, 볼튀기기 등 6개 종목으로 나눠 전국 650명의 선수단이 선의의 경쟁을 펼쳤다.
전남도는 장애인일자리 박람회 개최, 장애인편의증진기술지원센터 및 장애인보조기구수리센터 운영, 장애인 동거부부 합동결혼식 개최, 각종 장애인 대회 운영비 지원 등 매년 장애인 일자리와 복지 증진사업을 확대하고 있다.
