기독교복음선교회 교인협의회는 9월1일 보도자료에서 “곽동원 기독교복음선교회(JMS) 교인협의회 대표가 1일 교인협의회 사무실에서 항소심 재판 중인 정명석 목사의 무죄를 뒷받침하는 증거자료를 제시하며 무죄판결을 촉구하는 입장문을 발표했다“고 전했다.

교인협의회 곽동원 대표는 이날 입장문에서 “고소인 A씨가 제출한 녹음파일은 국내 소리규명연구소 배명진 교수 팀이 4차례에 걸쳐 감정한 결과 제3자 목소리, 마우스 클릭소리, 차단기 소리 등 수십 군데 조작한 흔적이 발견됐다”고 있다면서 “미국의 공신력 있는 USA 포렌식 연구소에서도 이 녹음파일을 분석한 결과, 현장에서 녹음된 원본 파일이 아니며 컴퓨터와 같은 장치를 거쳐 편집됐을 거라는 의견을 제시했다”고 강조했다.
교인협의회 곽동원 대표는 정명석 목사가 무죄라는 증거자료로 “전 교인 B씨가 고소인 A씨와 나눈 카카오톡 대화 내용을 폭로하면서 고소인 A씨의 성피해 주장이 거짓이었다는 것과 금전을 목적으로 정명석 목사를 계획적으로 고소하기 위해 모의한 정황이 밝혀졌다”면서 “반 JMS활동가 A 교수는 재판부에 비난하고 협박하는, 도를 넘는 내용의 통고서를 제출하며 법관의 고유권한을 농락하고 모독했다. 그와 한 배를 탄 B PD 역시 성폭력특별법 위반으로 검찰에 송치된 이후에도 진실을 은폐하고자 계획적으로 여론몰이를 하고 있다”고 지적했다.
교인협의회 곽동원 대표는 입장문에서 “전 선교회 교인 중 반 JMS활동가의 기획고소에 참여했던 사실을 양심선언으로 밝히고자 하는 사람이 있다면 용기를 내어 문을 두드려 달라”고 당부했다.
