군에 따르면 이번 파리 올림픽에서 금메달 5개를 획득해 전 종목 석권을 이루고 금의환향하는 김제덕 선수와 양궁 국가대표팀은 수많은 취재진과 팬들의 환대를 받았다.
김제덕 선수는 지난 7월 30일(한국시각) 양궁 남자단체전에서 김우진, 이우석 선수와 함께 프랑스를 5-1로 꺾고 2020년 도쿄올림픽 2관왕에 이어 세 번째 올림픽금메달을 목에 걸었으며, 4일 열린 개인전에서는 아쉽게 8강에서 탈락했다.
김제덕 선수는 “고향 예천에서 늦은 시간까지 웅원해주신 모든분들에게 진심으로 감사드린다.”며 “여기에 안주하지 않고 끊임없이 노력해 2028년 LA올림픽에서도 좋은 모습을 보여드리겠다.”라고 말했다.
