윤석열 대통령이 4일 '2024 프랑스 파리올림픽'에서 임시현 선수가 양궁 3관왕을 달성한 것에 대해 '세계 최강 궁사'라고 격려했다.
윤 대통령은 페이스북에 "임시현 선수 파리올림픽 양궁 3관왕을 축하한다"며 "여자 단체전 10연패, 어제 혼성 단체전과 오늘 개인전 금메달까지 시종일관 압도적 경기력으로 세계 최강 궁사의 진면목을 보여줬다"고 적었다.
그러면서 "은메달을 딴 막내 남수현 선수와 마지막 한 발까지 최선을 다한 맏언니 전훈영 선수에게도 격려 마음을 전한다"며 "세계 정상에서 선의의 경쟁을 하는 모습이 정말 자랑스러웠다"고 했다.
또 "선수 여러분의 땀·눈물은 곧 세계 정상을 향한 대한민국의 분투·자부심"이라며 "지금 이 시간에도 치열하게 뛰고 있는 국가대표 선수들을 국민과 함께 힘껏 응원한다"고 덧붙였다.
