브레이크뉴스 박동제 기자= 글로벌그룹 아이즈원(IZ*ONE) 멤버 김민주와 장원영이 패션 매거진 <엘르> 2월호의 더블 커버 주인공이 됐다.
총 3가지 버전으로 제작된 아이즈원 민주와 원영의 커버는 영 패션 아이콘인 두 소녀의 사랑스럽고 감성적인 모습을 담는 데에 집중했다. 시간이 멈춘듯 레트로한 분위기의 한 카페를 배경으로 진행된 커버 촬영 현장에서 민주와 원영은 장난기 넘치는 표정부터 나른한 무드까지 완벽히 소화하며 둘의 ‘케미’와 다양한 이야기가 담긴 장면을 끊임없이 선보였다.
이어진 인터뷰에서 민주는 “올해로 21살이 됐는데 아이즈원으로 데뷔한 이래 지난 2년 사이에 알게 모르게 많이 단단해졌다. 고척 스카이돔과 같은 큰 무대에서의 공연이나 MBC ‘쇼! 음악중심’의 진행자로 나선 것과 같이 활동하며 마주한 도전의 순간마다 ‘적어도 나 자신에게는 질 수 없다’는 마음으로 하나씩 해냈고 게임의 퀘스트를 달성할 때처럼 성취감과 안도감을 느꼈다. 앞으로도 끈기와 열정을 잃지 않고 싶다”며 당찬 소회를 전했다.
아이즈원의 막내 멤버이자, 이번 커버로 역대 <엘르>의 최연소 커버 스타가 된 원영은 “타고난 성격 덕분인지 지금껏 ‘최연소’라는 수식어에 부담을 느낀 적은 없다. 오히려 뿌듯한 마음이 더 크다. 내 어린 시절, 10대의 모습을 기록으로 남길 수 있다는 것도 매우 의미 있고 감사한 일”이라며 소감을 털어 놓았다.
또한 “평생 막내하고 싶을 정도다. 사랑받는 느낌도 좋고 멤버 언니들은 나를 좀 더 이해해주고 관대하게 넘어가주는 면이 있다. 나도 막내로서 따라야 할 순간들이 물론 있다. 서로 양보하고 맞춰가는 게 당연하고 계속해서 그렇게 해왔다”며 아이즈원의 멤버들과의 ‘케미’에 대해 솔직한 감정을 전하기도 했다.
