'Soul Bead'... Indian wisdom that everything has problems

Only when there is a gap there is room for other people to enter...

-Poet Kim Deok-kwon

If there is no gap in our lives, we may be choked and die. With that in mind, I looked for'empty' in the dictionary. He said'a relatively small empty space between any part of an object, object to object, and person to person'. But secondly, it says ‘poor, lacking or lacking points’.

It is said that the reason why the stone wall in Jeju Island does not collapse in the wind is because of this gap. This is because the sparse gap between the stone and the stone serves as the way of the wind. This is the only reason why Jeju's stone walls do not break down even if a strong wind breaks the cement walls. Stone walls will not collapse unless they block the path of the wind. There is no reason for the wind to break down such a stone wall.

In ancient Persia, when weaving the finest carpets, it was said that a tiny flaw was deliberately woven. This is called'Persian blemishes'. Nothing is perfect because of their philosophy. American Indians also deliberately insert a flawed bead into a bead necklace. Everything is said to be the Indian wisdom that there is a problem. They call it the'soul ball'.

How is it? I like people like that stone wall. How good is a person like a fence that looks straight and sturdy, but there are gaps and smells of people leaking through them? People don't have to be perfect. In fact, not many people are perfect. Life's problems cannot be avoided. However, the problem is not just a stumbling block. If handled well, gaps can be a stepping stone.

Homerun King Babe Ruth struck out 3,000, but it is said that each time he learned to hit a home run. President Ronald Reagan's mother blessed his crying son by saying, "The bad things today will be good tomorrow." Write the problem. Bitter water rises from the inside and destroys life.

Perfection doesn't matter so much when we know what is truly precious in our lives. A person without blemish cannot be considered a person of true humanity. In that sense, the most unfortunate person in this world is not the one who struggles to be flawless, right? A person's body and soul cannot even breathe without flaws.

The same goes for relationships and love between men and women. The relationship between men and women is maintained when there is a mental gap between a man and a woman, not a physical gap. Opening a gap in my heart and accepting the gap of a man is the secret to maintaining a relationship between men and women that does not collapse in the face of troubles or crises in the world. Isn't that the secret to saving a man by giving him a gap and pretending he doesn't know it?

Like this, sunlight can penetrate only when there is a gap. Even if a person who is not thorough is knowledgeable and logical, he does not have affection. There is room for other people to enter, and it is comfortable for those who have already entered. A gap is a window of communication between people. So, don't try to cover up the gap, but I hope you keep it open as it is.

People will come through that gap, and they will become life partners and make your life rich and happy. This gap is not a loophole, but a margin. It is good for us to show adequate gaps in human relationships first. Then, you will be able to feel simple recognition coming through the gap. Maybe that gap will revitalize your life?

There is a word called Nandeukhodo The word comes from the fact that a man named Jeong Pangyo (鄭板橋: 1693~1765) of the Qing Dynasty made'Nandeukhodo (難得糊塗)' as his philosophy of life. This means'it is difficult for a smart person to live while looking like a foolish person.' In his poem, he wrote:

“It's hard to look intelligent/it's hard to look like a stupid person/ It's smarter to look like a fool/it's even harder to look like a fool. Will come.''

A similar statement appears in Chapter 56 of Lao-tzu's 《Dodeokgyeong》. ``People who know do not speak, and those who speak (pretend to know) are people who do not know. It is called Hyundong because it is with the dust of the world by blocking its features, closing the door of desire, breaking the sharp energy and releasing confusion, and softening the light of wisdom. Therefore, it is impossible to be friendly, not to be estranged, not to benefit or to harm, to be precious or to be humble. Therefore, it becomes precious to the world.”

It is never easy to communicate with the people of the world without showing one's superior virtues, hiding one's intellect and resilience. Still, how good would it be if we live a little silly, give unconditionally, and run barefoot for the world and our full-fledged family? duksan4037@daum.net
