엔진 충담금 반영 현대차, 올 3분기 영업손실 3138억원

브레이크뉴스 박수영 기자= 현대자동차가 26일 서울 본사에서 2020년 3분기 경영실적 컨퍼런스콜을 실시하고, 3분기 실적이 IFRS 연결 기준 △판매 99만7842대 △매출액 27조5758억원(자동차 21조 4865억원, 금융 및 기타 6조893억원) △영업손실 3138억원 △경상손실 3623억원 △당기순손실 1888억원(비지배지분 포함)이라고 발표했다.

 

현대차 관계자는 3분기 경영실적과 관련, “판매는 글로벌 자동차 수요가 지난 2분기 대비 주요 국가들의 봉쇄 조치 완화 이후 회복세를 보이고 있으나, 여전히 코로나19의 영향으로 전년 동기 대비 역성장세를 이어가 감소했다”며 “영업이익은 3분기 엔진 관련 충당금이 큰 규모로 반영돼 적자전환 했다”고 설명했다.

 

이어 “이번 엔진 관련 충당금은 선제적인 고객 보호와 함께 미래에 발생 가능한 품질 비용 상승분을 고려해 최대한 보수적인 기준을 적용해 반영했다”며 “해당 품질 비용을 제외하면 3분기 영업이익은 기존 시장 예상치를 크게 상회하는 수준이다”고 덧붙였다.

영업부문 비용은 불확실한 경영환경을 극복하기 위한 전사적인 비용절감 노력에 따른 마케팅 비용 등의 감소에도 불구하고 엔진 관련 대규모 충당금 설정으로 전년 동기 대비 34.3% 증가한 5조4391억원을 기록했다.

 

이 결과, 2020년 3분기 영업이익은 전년 동기 대비 6923억원이 감소해 3138억원의 영업적자를 기록했다. 영업이익률은 전년 동기 대비 2.5%p 하락한 마이너스 1.1%를 나타냈다.

 

경상이익과 순이익도 각각 3623억원, 1888억의 순손실을 기록해 적자전환 했다.

현대차는 향후 경영환경 전망과 관련해 글로벌 자동차 수요가 코로나19의 부정적인 영향에서 점진적으로 벗어나 판매 회복세가 나타나고 있으나, 여전히 2, 3차 유행 등에 대한 우려가 여전히 남아 있고 신흥 시장 판매 부진이 지속되고 있는 상황에서 환율 또한 비우호적으로 바뀌고 있는 상황이라고 설명했다.

또한, 현대차는 향후 반복적인 품질 이슈를 단절하기 위해 전사 차원의 개선 방안을 수립하는 동시에 시장에서의 품질 문제를 조기에 감지해 개선 방안을 개발 단계에서부터 적용할 수 있도록 업무 체계를 개선할 방침이다.
