국내외 경기 타격 대기업, 올 상반기 신규채용 ‘먹구름’

채용계획 미정 39.7%·채용 없음 15.1%..작년 대졸 신규입사자 22.1% ‘중고신입’

7일 전국경제인연합회에 따르면 여론조사기관 리서치앤리서치에 의뢰해 매출액 500대 기업을 대상으로 ‘2023년 상반기 신규채용 계획’을 조사한 결과, 대기업의 절반 이상(54.8%)은 올해 상반기 신규채용 계획을 수립하지 못했거나, 채용하지 않을 것이라고 응답했다. 이 중 신규채용 계획 미수립 기업은 39.7%, 신규채용이 없는 기업은 15.1%였다.

 

전경련은 “올해 상반기 채용을 하지 않겠다는 기업 비중(15.1%)은 전년 동기(7.9%)보다 1.9배나 늘어난 수준”이라며 “고물가․고금리 기조 지속, 공급망 불안 등 경영 불확실성이 커지고, 경기침체 장기화 조짐이 보이면서 기업들이 비용 절감을 위해 신규채용 규모 축소 또는 채용 중단 등으로 대응하고 있는 것으로 보인다”고 분석했다.

 

올해 상반기 신규채용 계획을 수립한 기업 비중은 45.2%로, 이 중 채용 규모가 작년과 비슷한 기업은 50.8%이고, 작년보다 채용을 줄이겠다는 기업은 24.6%, 늘리겠다는 기업은 24.6%로 나타났다. 

 

2022년 조사와 비교하면, ‘작년보다 채용을 줄이겠다는 기업 비중’(24.6%)은 지난해(4.3%)에 비해 20.3%p 늘었고, ‘작년보다 채용을 늘리겠다는 기업 비중’(24.6%)은 지난해(41.4%)보다 16.8%p 줄었다.

신규채용을 늘리겠다고 응답한 기업들은 △경기 상황에 관계없이 미래의 인재 확보 차원에서(42.9%) △회사가 속한 업종 경기가 좋거나 좋아질 전망(35.7%) △신산업 또는 새로운 직군에 대한 인력 수요 증가(28.6%) △대기업이 신규채용을 늘려야 한다는 사회적 기대에 부응하기 위해(14.3%) 순이었다.

 

기업들은 상반기 채용시장 변화 전망에 대해 ‘수시채용 확대(31.1%)’를 가장 많이 꼽았다. 이어 △경력직 채용 강화(28.3%) △ESG 관련 인재채용 증가(11.9%) △4차 산업혁명 관련 분야 인재채용 증가(10.7%) △인공지능(AI) 활용 신규채용 증가(9.0%) △언택트 채용 도입 증가(4.5%) △블라인드 채용 확산 등 공정성 강화(3.7%) 등으로 올해 상반기 채용시장 변화를 내다봤다.

 

이러한 전망을 반영하듯, 기업들은 올해 상반기 중 수시채용을 활발히 진행할 예정이다. 응답 기업 10곳 중 6곳(57.1%)은 대졸 신규채용에서 수시채용 방식을 활용하겠다고 답했다. 이 중 수시채용만 진행하는 기업은 23.8%, 공개채용과 수시채용을 병행하겠다는 기업은 33.3%였다. 상반기 중 공개채용만 진행하는 기업은 42.9%로 조사됐다. 

 

공채 및 수시채용 병행 기업 10곳 중 7곳(71.4%)은 전체 채용계획 인원 중 50% 이상을 수시채용으로 뽑는 것으로 나타났다.

 

올해 상반기 대졸 신규채용 계획 인원 10명 중 7명(67.5%)은 ‘이공계열’ 졸업자가 차지하는 것으로 집계됐다. 이는 작년 상반기(61.0%)보다 6.5%p 늘어난 수준이다. 이어 △인문계열(32.1%) △예체능, 외국계열 등 기타 전공계열(0.4%) 순이었다.
