광복절 복권된 이재용, “국가 경제위해 열심히 뛰겠다”

법무부, 경제위기 극복 및 사회통합 위한 특별사면 단행

윤석얼 정부가 8.15 광복절을 맞아 첫 특별사면을 단행했다. 이중 이재용 삼성전자 부회장, 신동빈 롯데그룹 회장 등이 주요 경제인 사면 명단에 이름을 올렸다.

 

법무부는 12일 1693명의 특별사면을 실시한다고 밝혔다. 행정 대상자 59만3509명에 대한 특별감면 조치와 649명의 모범수 가석방이 시행됐다.

 

이날 복권이 결정된 이재용 삼성전자 부회장은 서울 서초구 서울중앙지법을 나서며 “국가 경제를 위해 열심히 뛰겠다. 감사하다”고 말했다.

 

이 부회장은 국정농단 혐의로 징역 2년 6개월을 확정받은 후 복역하다 가석방됐다. 국정농단 혐의는 지난 달 29일 만료됐지만, 5년간의 취업제한 조치 등 이 부회장의 경영행보에는 제한이 걸려있었다. 그러나 이번 복권 결정으로 인해 이 부회장의 국정농단 사법리스크는 사라지게 됐다.

 

아울러 신동빈 롯데그룹 회장과 장세주 동국제강 회장, 강덕수 전 STX그룹 회장도 사면됐다.

 

신 회장은 특별사면 및 복권, 장 회장은 특별복권, 강 전 회장은 특별사면 및 복권이 이뤄졌다.

 

법무부는 “적극적인 기술투자와 고용창출로 국가의 지속적인 성장동력을 주도하는 주요 경제인들에 대한 엄선된 사면을 통해 대한민국의 경제위기 극복에 기여할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고자 했다”고 설명했다.

 

한편, 이명박 전 대통령, 김경수 전 경남지사, 최경환 전 경제부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관, 전병헌 전 더불어민주당 의원, 남재준·이병기 전 국정원장 등 정치인과 공직자들은 이번 사면에 단 1명도 이름을 올리지 못했다.
