(광주=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자= 광주광역시는 8일 대통령직속 일자리위원회, 고용노동부, 산업통상자원부, 노사발전재단이 공동 주최·주관한 ‘2021 상생형 지역일자리 포럼’에서 상생형 지역일자리 유공으로 ‘일자리위원회 기관 표창’을 수상했다.
이번 포럼은 상생형 지역일자리 추진 성과를 공유하고 발전 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
광주시는 전국 최초 지자체 주도 사회통합형 일자리 모델로서 지난해 6월 전국 제1호 상생형 지역 일자리로 선정됐고, 23년 만에 국내 완성차 공장을 완공해 지난 9월 첫 생산품인 ‘캐스퍼’ 차량을 성공리에 양산해 폭발적인 인기를 얻고 있는 등 성과를 인정받았다.
또한, 고비용·저효율의 한국경제 체질을 개선할 수 있는 돌파구를 마련하고, 타 지역으로 상생형 일자리 확산, 지역경제 활성화 등에 공헌한 점을 높이 평가받았다.
광주시는 현대자동차(주)와 2019년 1월 광주형일자리 완성차 공장 투자협약을 체결한데 이어 올해 4월 완성차 공장을 준공하고, 첫 모델인 경형 SUV 캐스퍼를 본격 출시한 뒤 2만5000여 대 이상 예약이 완료됐으며, 12월 현재 560명의 일자리를 창출했다.
특히, ㈜광주글로벌모터스 완성차 공장은 미래 자동차 시장의 변화에 유연하게 대처할 수 있도록 친환경, 디지털, 유연화의 3대 콘셉트로 건설돼 언제든지 친환경 자동차 생산시설로 변경이 가능하다.
