Samsung revitalizes domestic economy for Chuseok... Early payment of 800 billion won for suppliers' goods

-Reporter Jeong Min-woo

Samsung Electronics and other Samsung affiliates are providing support for expanding the sales of agricultural products, which have plummeted in prices, and early payment of goods for suppliers to revitalize the domestic economy ahead of Chuseok.

First, Samsung will launch the ‘Good Consumption Helping Farmers’ campaign from the 9th to help farmers who are experiencing difficulties due to a sharp drop in sales due to a sharp drop in agricultural product prices.

Recently, farmhouses have even discarded agricultural products in production areas due to a drop in the prices of some agricultural products due to a decrease in school meals due to Corona 19, cancellation of local festivals, and oversupply.

Accordingly, Samsung Electronics, electronics affiliates, Samsung C&T, and Samsung financial affiliates decided to create a separate website with the NACF in the online marketplace for employees, and to support the expansion of sales by adding 50% of the purchase amount to the employees when they purchase agricultural products.

It plans to sell red pepper, cabbage, green onion, radish, Chinese cabbage, cucumber, etc., which are much cheaper than last year, in packages.

Since the company supports the purchase cost, employees can purchase high-quality agricultural products at a low price, and farmers can sell in large quantities, so mutual benefits are expected.

This campaign will continue until the total purchase amount reaches 3 billion won.

Samsung plans to purchase and donate 500 million won worth of agricultural products to welfare facilities and free lunch centers near major business sites such as Suwon, Yongin, and Hwaseong so that neighbors from the underprivileged can enjoy the holidays together.

In addition, all 18 affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, and Samsung Life Insurance, opened an “online Chuseok Market” for employees and started selling products from national agricultural and fisheries products, special products from sister villages, and products from small and medium-sized companies produced by smart factories.

Samsung has been supporting the sale of agricultural products by opening an offline direct market at each business site every year for Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays.

Since 2015, Samsung Electronics has been conducting a smart factory support project by dispatching experts to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to pass on know-how such as △field innovation, △system building, and △automation.

Samsung not only supports productivity innovation of SMEs through smart factory support, but also helps expand sales by putting products produced in smart factories on the online marketplace every year.

Meanwhile, 12 Samsung affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung C&T, Samsung Engineering, Cheil Worldwide, S1, and Samsung Welstory, cooperated ahead of the holidays. In order for companies to manage their funds freely, the total amount of goods worth 800 billion won will be advanced by more than a week and paid in advance before the Chuseok holiday.

Samsung Electronics has been the first in Korea to pay the entire transaction amount in cash since 2005 in order to grow together and coexist with its suppliers. have done

In addition, Samsung will continue to operate a mutual growth fund worth 3.4 trillion won and a water fund to stabilize the management of small and medium-sized partners, and will provide incentives of about 240 billion won for excellent partners for three years from 2021. Samsung has paid a total of 425.4 billion won over 11 years since the introduction of the incentive system for suppliers in 2010.
