Gyeongju Mayor Nak-yeong Joo encourages farmers to visit the public stockpile purchase site

Singyeongju DSC visit site inspection, listen to farmers' difficulties and encourage purchasers

On the 21st, Gyeongju Mayor Nak-young Joo visited Singyeongju DSC, a site for purchasing products from 2020 public stockpile rice, and inspected the purchase of public stockpile rice, listened to farmers' difficulties, and encouraged the purchasers.

Gyeongju City will purchase a total of 5,580 tons (139,500 bags), including 3,500 tons (87,500 bags) of product rice and 2,080 tons (52,000 bags) of dried rice, by the 20th of next month, starting with the purchase of product rice at Gyeongju DSC on the 7th.

As a result of the long rainy season and successive typhoons such as'Mysak' and'High Sun', the city has suffered a lot of damage such as lodging, germination, and white water. It plans to purchase the rice, and the median settlement of the damaged rice is 20,000 won (30 kg bag), which will be settled by the end of the year after the purchase price of public stocks is finally confirmed.

In relation to the cultivar inspection system, if more than 20% of cultivars other than Samgwang rice are mixed, they are excluded from the purchase of public stockpiled rice for the next five years, requiring special attention from farmers.

Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young said, “I am grateful to the farmers who did their best in difficult conditions such as the prolonged rainy season and subsequent typhoons,” and said, “I will actively strive for stable farming activities for farms.”
