Choi In-ho, “Severe contaminated water in Fukushima.. 21% radioactivity exceeds 10 times”

72% contaminated water exceeded the threshold. Over 100 times 6%, 10 times to 100 times 15%, etc.
Japanese imports accounted for 37% of the imported fishery products that violate the country of origin in 2019 (weight)
Strontium, the average concentration exceeds the reference value 111 times, the maximum value reaches 14,433 times the reference value
Tritium, which cannot be removed technically, has no test standards, so test standards must be prepared

While the Japanese government is known to decide on the 27th to release Fukushima contaminated water, 21% of Fukushima contaminated water exceeds the standard value 10 times, and in 2019 it is shocking to find that 37% of imported fishery products that violate the country of origin labeling are made in Japan. .

In addition, according to data received from the Nuclear Safety Committee by Democratic Party member Choi In-ho (Saha Gap, Busan), out of the 1.09 million tons of contaminated water in Fukushima at the end of 2019, the amount exceeding the radioactivity threshold excluding tritium was 780,000 tons, which is 72%. It is more than 100 times 65,000 tons (6%), 10 times to 100 times 161,700 tons (15%), 5 to 10 times 207,500 tons (19%), and 1 to 5 times 346,500 tons (32%).

By major radionuclide, the average concentration of tritium exceeded the standard value by 10 times and the average concentration of cesium 137 was within the standard value, but the maximum value was 9 times the standard value. The average concentration of strontium exceeded the reference value by 111 times and the maximum value reached 14,433 times the reference value.

The Japanese government said that it would reduce the contaminated water to within the standard level through the ALPS (multi-nuclide removal facility) and discharge it, but said that tritium could not be removed technically. When discharging contaminated water in the ocean, Korea is also exposed to the risk of tritium. However, the safety of the human body for tritium has not yet been officially verified, and the controversy over the harmfulness continues.

Currently, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries conducts radioactivity tests for domestically produced aquatic products and deep-sea aquatic products, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety conducts tests on imported aquatic products. However, only radioactivity tests for cesium and iodine are conducted, and tritium is not tested because there is no test standard itself. .

According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, 655 cases of imported fishery products that violate the country of origin labeling in 2019 were 115,475 kg. China made the most with 282 cases, 66,322kg (57%), Japan 137 cases, 42,756kg (37%), Russia 75 cases, 779kg (0.7%), US 20 cases, 1,018kg (0.9%), Vietnam The order was 16, followed by 2,502kg (2.2%).

Congressman Choi said, "In general, it is known that it takes 4 to 5 years for radioactive pollutants to reach the domestic coast when discharged from Fukushima contaminated water, and that time will be further shortened if it is through fish caught in the seas of Japan or in the Pacific Ocean." In particular, he pointed out that last year alone, over 40,000 tons of Japanese aquatic products were detected that were not deceived or marked with their origin.

In addition, he stressed, “The government should cooperate with the international community to prevent Japan from compulsory discharge of contaminated water in Fukushima, where safety has not been verified, and promptly implement safety inspection and inspection standards for tritium.” hpf21@naver.com
