시는 '2026 대한민국 독서대전'의 연간 행사 일환으로, 책이 독자의 삶과 마음속에 남긴 발자취를 그림으로 표현하는 독후감상화 공모전 '책이 흘러간 자리'를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모전은 독서대전의 메인 테마인 '책의 물결, 춘천 산책(冊)'을 바탕으로 기획됐다. 독서를 통해 얻은 묵직한 울림과 기억을 8절 도화지 위에 시각적으로 구현함으로써, 독서의 참된 의미를 전국 시민들과 함께 공유하겠다는 취지다.
참여 문턱은 대폭 낮췄다. 이달 15일부터 30일까지 어린이와 청소년은 물론 성인까지 전 국민 누구나 지원할 수 있다. 자신이 읽은 책에서 얻은 영감과 경험을 자유롭게 화폭에 담아 참가신청서와 함께 방문 또는 우편으로 제출하면 된다.
접수된 작품들은 회화 전문가들의 엄격한 심사를 거쳐 어린이·청소년 부문과 성인 부문에서 총 15점의 당선작이 가려질 예정이다. 주제 적합성과 창의력, 전달력 등을 종합적으로 평가하며, 최우수상 등 수상자들에게는 총 215만 원 규모의 문화상품권이 부상으로 주어진다.
최종 수상작은 다음 달 13일 발표되며, 9월 18일부터 3일간 열리는 '2026 대한민국 독서대전' 본행사장에 성대하게 전시돼 전국에서 모인 관람객들의 눈길을 사로잡을 전망이다.
