영덕군은 4일 군청에서 ‘신규 원전 유치 추진 현안업무 회의’를 개최하고 향후 주민 수용성 평가에 대비한 홍보 전략과 부서별 대응 방안을 점검했다고 밝혔다.
김광열 영덕군수 주재로 열린 이날 회의에는 각 읍·면장과 실·과·소 부서장들이 참석해 원전 유치 추진 현황을 공유하고 주민 공감대 형성을 위한 홍보 방향을 논의했다.
군은 지방선거 이후 신규 원전 유치와 관련한 주민 수용성 평가 여론조사가 본격 진행될 것으로 예상됨에 따라, 이날 회의를 기점으로 여론조사 종료 시점까지를 ‘집중 홍보 기간’으로 운영하기로 했다.
이에 따라 여론조사 안내 전단 배부와 현수막 설치는 물론, 지역 밴드와 사회관계망서비스(SNS), 군정 소식지 등 다양한 매체를 활용해 신규 원전 건설의 필요성과 기대 효과를 군민들에게 적극적으로 알릴 계획이다.
