【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군 가양도서관이 매월 마지막 주 수요일에만 한시적으로 운영해 온 ‘두 배로 대출’ 서비스를 매주 수요일로 전격 확대 운영한다.
‘두 배로 대출’은 지정된 운영일에 도서관을 방문하는 이용자에게 개인별 도서 대출 권수를 기존 5권에서 최대 10권까지 두 배로 늘려주는 서비스다. 가양도서관은 한 번 방문할 때 더 많은 도서를 빌려 가기를 원하는 이용자들의 지속적인 수요를 반영해, 기존 월 1회 제공하던 혜택을 매주 수요일마다 상시 제공하기로 결정했다.
이번 서비스 확대 조치는 오는 6월 10일부터 본격 시행된다. 가양도서관 회원이라면 누구나 혜택을 받을 수 있으며, 일반도서와 어린이도서 모두에 동일하게 적용된다.
특히 평소 대출 권수 제한으로 인해 도서관을 여러 번 번거롭게 방문해야 했던 가족 단위 이용자나 자녀와 함께 책을 고르는 부모들의 만족도가 크게 높아질 것으로 보인다. 한 번에 필요한 도서를 넉넉하게 빌릴 수 있게 되면서, 군민들의 일상 속 독서 활동과 문화생활 편의성이 한층 더 향상될 전망이다.
현재 가양도서관 어린이자료실과 종합자료실은 화요일부터 일요일까지 오전 9시부터 오후 10시까지 이용할 수 있으며, 매주 월요일은 정기 휴관한다.
곽명영 행복교육과장은 “도서관이 군민들의 생활 속에서 가장 친근하고 가까운 문화공간으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 기존 월 1회였던 대출 확대 혜택을 매주로 대폭 늘렸다”며 “어린이부터 성인에 이르기까지 원하는 책을 더욱 편리하게 마음껏 빌려 읽을 수 있도록, 앞으로도 이용자 중심의 맞춤형 도서 서비스를 지속적으로 개선해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
