이번 행사는 고유가 피해지원금 지급 시기와 연계하여 소비 촉진 효과를 극대화하기 위해 마련됐다. 군은 중소벤처기업청, 충청북도, 영동축제관광재단 등 유관기관과 긴밀한 협의를 거쳐 상생형 지역경제 활성화 모델을 구축했다. 이에 발맞춰 영동전통시장상인회에서도 매주 금요일과 토요일 행사 기간에 40여 개 점포가 참여하는 자체 할인 행사를 열고 전통시장 변화에 앞장선다.
