【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=대학가에 전공자율선택제 도입이 확산되는 가운데, 충북대학교가 자율전공 학생들이 스스로 적성을 찾고 진로를 설계할 수 있도록 돕는 대규모 소통의 장을 마련했다. 충북대학교 창의융합대학 자율전공학부는 지난 2일 학생들의 높은 관심과 참여 속에 ‘2026년 자율전공학부 전공 탐색 박람회’를 성공적으로 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 박람회는 학생들이 다양한 전공 정보를 한자리에서 접하며 자신에게 맞는 학업 방향을 주도적으로 결정할 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 기획됐다. 이날 행사에는 자율전공학부 신입생을 비롯해 재학생 등 약 450명이 방문해 열띤 분위기를 연출했다.
박람회 현장에는 충북대 내 9개 단과대학 소속 33개 학과와 학내·외 5개 유관 부서가 참여해 전공별 특성과 졸업 후 진로에 대한 맞춤형 1대1 상담을 진행했다. 특히 각 학과의 선배들이 멘토로 직접 나서 생생한 전공 공부 경험담과 대학 생활 팁, 실제 취업 사례 등을 아낌없이 공유하며 전공 선택을 고민하는 후배들에게 실질적인 길잡이 역할을 했다.

김종연 충북대 창의융합대학장은 “이번 박람회가 학생들이 전공의 장벽을 넘어 자신의 무한한 가능성을 발견하는 뜻깊은 계기가 되었기를 바란다”라며 “앞으로도 학생들이 자기주도적으로 미래를 설계해 나갈 수 있도록 전공자율선택제의 안정적인 정착을 유도하고 학생 맞춤형 교육 지원에 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
행사를 기획한 김대원 초빙교수 역시 “학생들이 자유롭고 활기찬 분위기 속에서 여러 학과를 탐색하며 진로를 진지하게 고민해 보는 시간이 되었을 것”이라며 “현장에서 나온 학생들의 다양한 의견을 수렴해 더욱 발전된 맞춤형 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 선보이겠다”고 덧붙였다.
