시는 일상 속 자원순환 문화를 정착시키고 폐기물 처리 비용을 절감하기 위해 이달부터 오는 10월까지 5개월간 '2026년 공동주택 음식물류 폐기물 감량 경진대회'를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
이번 대회는 별도의 번거로운 신청 절차 없이, RFID(무선인식) 음식물 종량제 기기를 도입해 사용 중인 관내 124개 아파트 단지가 자동으로 참가하게 된다.
평가의 공정성을 높이기 위해 시는 참가 단지를 세대 규모별로 4개 그룹(100~399세대, 400~699세대, 700~999세대, 1000세대 이상)으로 세분화했다. 평가 배점은 전년 동기간 대비 음식물쓰레기 감량률(60점)과 1인당 배출량(40점)을 합산하여 종합적으로 산정된다.
열띤 감량 경쟁 끝에 선정된 각 그룹별 우수 단지 총 10곳에는 최대 300만 원 상당의 종량제 봉투 또는 재활용 봉투가 인센티브로 두둑하게 지급될 예정이다.
