[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 무소속 한동훈 후보가(부산 북갑) 더불어민주당 하정우 후보의 방송토론 불참 방침을 두고 “신비주의 전략”이라며 강하게 비판했다. 한 후보는 하 후보가 주요 현안에 대한 입장을 밝히지 않은 채 공개 검증을 피하고 있다고 지적했다.
정치권에 따르면 민주당 하정우 후보 측은 최근 부산KBS에 이어 CBS·KNN 등이 제안한 후보자 토론회에도 참여하지 않겠다는 입장을 유지하고 있는 것으로 알려졌다. 다만 선거관리위원회가 주최하는 공식 토론회에는 참석하겠다는 방침이다.
이에 대해 한동훈 후보는 자신의 페이스북을 통해 “정치 신인인 하 후보가 어째서 신비주의 전략을 구사하는지 모르겠다. 본인이 서태지인가”라고 직격했다.
이어 “하 후보는 공소취소 특검법, AI 초과이익 국민배당금, 전재수 부산시장 후보의 까르띠에 시계 수수 논란과 관련해 어떠한 대답도 하지 않고 있다”고 주장했다.
그러면서 “차라리 이재명 정권에 화끈하게 아부하든지, 그게 아니라면 자기 생각을 스스로 말할 수 있는 수준 정도는 되어야 하지 않나”라며 “유권자 앞에서 정책과 현안에 대한 입장을 검증받는 것은 후보자의 기본 책무”라고 비판 수위를 높였다.
한 후보 측은 방송토론이 유권자의 알 권리를 위한 최소한의 과정이라고 강조하며, 하 후보가 공개 검증에 적극 나서야 한다고 압박했다. 반면 하 후보 측은 공식 선관위 토론 외 별도 방송사 토론에는 응하지 않는다는 기존 입장을 고수하고 있다.

Independent candidate Han Dong-hoon (Busan Buk-gap) strongly criticized Democratic Party candidate Ha Jung-woo for refusing to participate in broadcast debates, calling it a “mystique strategy.”
Han argued that Ha is avoiding public scrutiny while failing to clarify his positions on key issues.
According to political sources, Ha’s camp has recently maintained its stance of declining participation in candidate debates proposed by broadcasters such as Busan KBS, CBS, and KNN. However, they have indicated that Ha will attend officially organized debates hosted by the National Election Commission.
In response, Han wrote on his Facebook page, “I don’t understand why a political newcomer like Ha is employing a mystique strategy. Does he think he’s Seo Taiji?”—a remark directly criticizing Ha.
Han continued, claiming that Ha has not provided any answers regarding major issues, including the special prosecutor bill on indictment cancellation, AI excess profit national dividend proposals, and allegations surrounding Busan mayoral candidate Jeon Jae-soo’s acceptance of a Cartier watch.
He added, “Either he should openly flatter the Lee Jae-myung administration, or at the very least be capable of expressing his own views,” and emphasized that “being subject to public verification of policies and key issues in front of voters is a basic duty of any candidate.”
Han’s camp stressed that broadcast debates are a minimum requirement to guarantee voters’ right to know, urging Ha to actively engage in public scrutiny. Meanwhile, Ha’s side continues to maintain its position of declining non-official broadcast debates, apart from those hosted by the election authorities.
