(무안=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전라남도교육청이 헌법 정신을 바탕으로 학생들이 삶 속에서 민주주의를 실천할 수 있도록 돕는 ‘민주시민교육’ 내실화에 나섰다.
도교육청은 지난 9일부터 오는 16일까지 ‘민주시민교육 역량 강화 연수’를 열고, 헌법 가치에 기반한 학생 참여형 교육 실천 방안을 집중 논의한다고 밝혔다.
이번 연수는 전남 민주시민교육의 방향성을 공유하고, 교원들이 학생 참여 중심 수업과 공동체 실천 활동을 이끌 수 있도록 전문성을 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 자유, 평등, 참여 등 헌법의 핵심 가치를 학교 교육 현장에서 구체적으로 구현하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
주요 교육 내용은 학교 현장에서 즉시 적용 가능한 사례 중심으로 구성됐다. 구체적으로는 ▲민주시민의식의 기초 이해와 헌법 중심 시민교육 ▲디지털 미디어 및 AI 리터러시를 통한 비판적 시민의식 형성 ▲논쟁형 토론 교육 ▲학생 참여와 실천 중심 활동을 통한 주체성 향상 방안 등이 다뤄진다.
그동안 전남교육청은 ‘찾아가는 민주시민교실’과 ‘디지털 시민성 교육’을 통해 민주적 학교 문화 조성에 힘써왔다. 이번 연수 이후에는 교원 역량 강화와 더불어 관련 교육 자료 개발, 지역별 전문 강사 양성 등 지원 기반을 더욱 촘촘히 구축할 방침이다.
